I'm pretty sure it has been suggested. But since it hasn't been acted upon, no reason not to suggest it again.

Hey, has anyone mentioned how borderline-unreadable this sans serif font is?

    The whole place is unreadable.

The font is just one reason why.

The new format has made BigSoccer one big aggravation. It's hard to read. It's hard to navigate. The experience since the change has been completely negative. Nothing has been improved. Everything has been made worse.

Once upon a time, I used to post in Book Antiqua. It was just a little too precious, but maybe I'll have to go back to that.

    Happy?

Aside from that, how was the play?

I'm guessing you didn't like it when BS migrated to XenForo as well. There's some not to like. I don't like the emphasis that reps receive, esp vis a vis the sigs and you know, actual posts. But I don't find it unreadable. The forum list is not as nice as the old small button since it grays out the main screen and that was my main mode of navigation pre-update.

As for plusses, MasterShake's avatar really pops. So there's that.

The play wasn't that good either.

Bear in mind that I've been a part of every BigSoccer upgrade. And there have been many.

The problems with this one are on par with some others, which is to say they are fixable.

Every upgrade seems to make the sigs obnoxiously large. (Don't know why that is.) Every upgrade requires some tweaking in terms of navigation, particularly in regards to the My Forums link.

What's new in this upgrade is the overly large rep area and the excessive padding, and partly because of that I don't remember any other upgrade that made reading threads as difficult as it is now.

Right. But that's not the same as a simple link that takes you to the list of threads. Why would that be dropped?

Is this on the list? I think the sigs need to be limited in size and lowered in prominence.

Do we have a running list?

I thought @soccernutter might be compiling one. (Could be wrong and I didn't double check.)

It would be useful to have one for this thread. That way people would know if their issue is on the itinerary.

If @soccernutter or someone else wants to start one, I will double check it late tonight and help keep it current going forward.

Feel like a broken record here. The good news is that I can get the site to do some of the things that I want if I change how my browser displays on my laptop. I'll post the difference in pictures below

The trending bar will go down to the bottom of the page if I don't take my page full screen and treat it like a mobile page. As soon as I take it full screen, the trending bar comes back on the right. Many posters don't necessarily care about what's trending. We like to go to our little corners and stay there. Plus, the clientele here isn't exactly welcoming if you just start wandering into other threads and start posting, especially in many of those NSR threads where people have been posting inside stuff for years. If you are going to be going with this trending stuff, you need to be able to constitute what's actually trending. People posting in the NSR ain't exactly trending, no matter how many posts are done over the course of a day. I get why you would want to do it, but the feature is almost as useless as a condom machine in a nunnery.

If you are going to keep that trending crap at the right, eliminate my information. I know who I am. There's no need to have a block with my name, post/rep numbers, avatar, and links which I can easily find under my name in the bar in the top right. Not only is this redundant, it looks aesthetically terrible.

The colors are not good. You have a mostly drab environment, then you have neon green or blue shooting you in the eyes and it just looks awful. It all looks incredibly disjointed.

The gaps between posts leave too much empty space. Keep it together. There's no need to have spacing between every post.

The ability to tell the difference between posts, quoted posts, and signatures is almost nil.

Here's a new one for the list. It's related to the "My Forums" page, which not everyone uses. But for those of us who do (like me and @Ismitje), I think it's an important issue.

Here's a screen capture of my old Watched Forums page. (Yes, I screen captured a few things before the upgrade so I could compare them later.)

Here's a screen capture of what I see now:

All the latest thread details are gone.

Can we bring those details back?

Looks much better like this if it were in full screen as opposed to shrunken.

I think the font looks fine, it's clear and legible to me, the font is actually quite big.

Maybe it's because I'm looking at this on an iOS device?

A couple of other things that I don't know if anyone has pointed out:

When I go under All Watched Threads, all of the links are bold. I can't tell the difference between which ones have updates and which I have already read. Bold used to be the distinction between read and unread. Now, everything everywhere is bold. It's very confusing.

When going onto the main forum page, instead of everything being in a straight line, it's not all in boxes. I'm sure this is a feature, but it took me a couple of minutes to find a sub forum in one of the main categories because it's kinda hidden in plain sight. It also doesn't tell me if there are new posts or not in that sub forum. That used to be indicated by the sub forum showing up bold. Also, there are icons before some sub folders, but there's not rhyme of reason. For example: the Business and Media sub folders have dollar signs in front of them. If I go to any of the league sub forums, there are no icons and I can't tell if anyone has posted in any of them.

Clicking the name of the thread does not take me to the first post I have not read yet. It takes me to page one of the thread.

The font is legible if nothing else is part of the post, but since there's no clear and obvious distinction between quoted posts, original posts, and signatures, it makes it tough to follow.
