^ More than half of the current squad will be dropped, I think we have too much firepower going forward with our inform European players performing recently in UCL & EL for Qatar to stop us.

It's gonna be a tough game in Doha but I can't see the likes of Azmoun/Gucci/Ansarifard not scoring

Gucci and Azmoun are good to rely on but the thing that makes me concerned about our match against Qatar is that Deja is injured and Jahanbaksh is suspected to have his old injury coming back. That means losing fire power in RW/AMF. Our third choice RW/LW Torabi is also not ready after his nasty injury. Our LW relies on Amiri and somehow HajSafi. Hajsafi has shown he can operate well in MF position specially now that Deja is injured. Taremi always disappoints me in international level as CF or RW.

If I want to sum it up, we need to come up with good alternatives as our RW, have a good LW sub and definitely invite Soroush and Behnam to add to our creativity.

Soroush Rafiei is a must for me, however it's a tad too soon for Behnam Barzai who is an older and more limited version of Torabi who's also much more gifted in general.

However I still see your point, better have a "inform" Barzai over a back-from-injury Torabi. I wonder how CQ goes on to call up someone like Ebrahimzadeh :ROFLMAO:

I hope he keeps Pahlevan and invites Soroush and Behnam. One good news is NO MORE TAREMI IN TM!;):D:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: This god damn player gives us heart attacks in PGPL and ACL and I want him to get back some. Man, I really hate him  when he loses so many sitters and dives instead of targeting the goal!

The away game against Qatar will be our toughest. I'll be content with a 0-0 draw and the full 3 points from China few days later in Azadi. That would result in 4 points, and we are still on track to top the table and qualify for Russia 2018.

Not surprising at all. When Lebanon beats Korea, North Korea beats Japan in East Asian Cup 2015 where Japan used players such as Nishikawa, Morishige, Asano, Shibasaki, Yamaguchi who scored the second goal against Iraq in WCQs 2018, etc, why should this surprise you?

This game was useful to give playing time to every single player who was in the camp and weeding out the right players. The result was not important at all. I do not like to use B team word. Even if It was weaker line up than that, I still do not use that word.

Let's shift the focus to Qatar game which will be a very tough game in terms of everything even with full squad and legionnaires.

Do not say that word. Iraq people are among kindest, greater, politest, and most passionate people in the world. Iraq people are the people with great culture. Also try your best to ignore any comment you do not like.

Very special and warm Congratulation for this win and wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches. Hope this win does not trick your team. Your next matches which are official matches will be totally different than this closed door friendly match that no one was allowed to come to the stadium.

Do not go by very a few comments you dislike. In Iran, Iraq is one the most lovely nations for the people, may be the most lovely Arab nation.

Very warm and special congratulation for this win, but hope this win does not tricks your team. The official games are much different than this friendly game which was a closed door match and no one could enter to the stadium. Good luck in your upcoming match.

    Sasan Ansari (Foolad)

*Pahlevan, Ebrahimzadeh, Torabi, Tabrizi, Danial Mahini are dropped from the squad.
*Unfortunately Dejagah is very injury prone. He is out due to injury.
*Surprise to see Ghafouri because I thought he will not be in the list only due to injury. Did he recover from injury? Probably yes
*Surprise to see Sasan Ansari in the final list. Seeing Ali Karimi in the final list can be for some people but not me.

What would be your line up? What line up do you think is he going to choose?

    Defensive line up:

    1569187_Iran.jpg

    Non-Defensive line up:

    1569185_Iran.jpg

    * I start with Gucci and save Azmoun for the next game.
    * Hosseini is 35 and his performance is dropping. Do you guys still trust him or not?
    * CQ may use Jahanbakhsh as a sub play to save his energy for the next game.
*Do you guys prefer to start with defensive line up or non-defensive line up? What would be your preferred line up?

Good news: The Iraq friendly was not an official FIFA friendly, so we maintain our winning streak and don't degrade our ranking by losing to such a lower ranked team.

This makes much more sense since the European teams of our legionnaires wouldn't release their players as they needed them for league games today. They won't release them for a non-official friendly obviously

Do you have a source for this? The match is listed on FIFA.com. (http://www.fifa.com/live-scores/teams/country=irn/men/matches/index.html)

Look what CQ wrote on FB

    Dear friends,

Already in Qatar. With our arrival we start today Team Melli short preparation camp to play such important and crucial game against Qatar National Team.

We have 8 players performing in Europe and they will arrive in camp only 3 days before game, on March 20. The rest of our squad will rest and have recovery work today, after 2 trainings days in Tehran.

We will also have technical video match analyses of our training game yesterday against Iraq. Without any doubts Mr Bonyadifar, relevant Iranian(?) referee, owns a word of public apologies to our National Team players and supporters. Believe it or not he failled 3 crucial decidions/penalties against Iraq. Unbelievable, to avoid other unpleasant comment. The rumor and humor in camp was, "bring back Benjamin Williams"...

By the way, Qatar, in camp since March 3, will play another preparation match today. Being here since today we will be more and full focus and concentrate in our duties and goals.
Our motivation and confidence will be growing up and our Team spirit powerfull as never before.

We know Qatar will make it dificult for us, but it will be not easy for them, as well.

    Good luck for all!
    CQ

Ps: 2 great captains in this photo, Omid Ebraim and former Sporting Lisbon captain Oceano Cruz. Same style. They even put their feet the same way!

    ---
So apparently there were some bad calls by the ref. That's exactly the problem with these closed doors matches. We don't know exactly what happened but still criticize the team.
But I had a good laugh reading this, especially the Benjamin Williams part lol.

I don't think anyone criticised the team (which wasn't really Iran's national team technically) on a loss in a meaningless friendly.

We were just surprised our domestic players couldn't get the win, since we generally don't lose games these days therefore most people were wondering over that

What gibberish is this? CQ has become the NT speaker? I hope he focuses more on NT training and stop posting on FB left and right.

Congrats for our futsal and beach soccer teams. Against all odds they went on to grab bronze medal on global stages. Now, it is our NT's turn to make history. Football is in our blood.
