Waow double sad news for French football, specially PSG, consecutively....Is this because I said Mjede ain't world class imo?....
Henry is already at the Thorns pre-season camp, you can see her on the video. Katoto might have restarted playing too early and will miss a lot of game. And considering how bad our U19 was in La Manga, it is not a good news at all.
Not really surprised by their bad results at La Manga, Chavas, Katoto and De Almeida aside the group is average, and for once I will not blame Eyquem squad selection....we just have not many naturally talented girl in that age group.
Last week there was the quarter-final of Coupe de France here are the results: Henin-Beaumont - Soyaux: 1-0 ; Lewandoski Montpellier - Saint-Etienne: 0-1 ; Lavaud O. Lyon - Rodez: 6-0 ; Bremer, Hamraoui, Dali, Morgan 3x Juvisy - Paris SG: 1-1 ; E. Cascarino/ Deville (o.g). PSG won at pk 6-5. Highlights: It was a great game between PSG and Juvisy but the surprise is Henin (D3!) reaching the semi-final...Don't even know if a D3 team ever reached this stage of the competition before. They face OL next round....and talking about Aulas's club @Romario'sgurl , finally Alex scored her first goal in France and she did it three times with one very pretty goal. I hope it makes you happy, I know you were waiting for it..... The semi-final draw are: Henin-Beaumont vs O. Lyon Paris SG - Saint-Etienne Both games will be played April 16 or 17. Other info Grace Geyoro (PSG0 and Camille Catala (Juvisy) have both renew their contract until July 2021 for Grace and July 2019 for Camille. Lol no he didn't....she's an excellent player though, just not world class imho...
sawker?..really?!?.....But why you hate her so much though?... Alex is actually doing well in France, she seems to be a very genuine person, sociable but not forced like Rapinoe....She seems to enjoy her experience in Lyon but her love for Crepes is worrying me .... They made four episode of her web series Rendez Vous avec Alex and like two times it was aabout her eating at a restaurant where she eats directly at the kitchen......Those who worked in a restaurant know what kind of people eat in the kitchen..... Never thought Alex Morgan could be one of them. Rodez is a mid-table team, usually they defend better than that....
Division 1 feminine matchday 16 results: O. Marseille - Paris SG: 2-0 ; Yuceli, Bretigny Metz - Juvisy: 1-3 ; Pekkel / Catala, Diani, Declercq Guingamp - Montpellier: 0-2 ; Blackstenius, Le Bihan Saint-Etienne - Bordeaux: 0-0 Albi - O. Lyon: 0-5 ; Kumagai, Hegerberg, Abily, Morgan 2x Soyaux - Rodez: 2-3 ; Babinga, Bourgouin / Lemaitre, Noiran 2x League table: Goalscorers: 1) Le Sommer (ol) 15 goals 2) Hegerberg (ol), Jakobsson (mhsc) 14 goals 4) Delie (psg) 13 goals 5) Abily (ol) 10 goals 6) Bourgouin (soy) 9 goals 7) Cristiane (psg) 8 goals My thought: Five goals in two macthes for Alex Morgan...I know some people must be very happy for her while sothers may not....lol.....Surprised by Rodez winning at Soyaux, Turk-German Melike Pekel is doing very well in her first three months in France, too bad Metz recruited her quite late, but the big news of the day...and probaly even for the season...is the great win of Olympique Marseille against archi-rival (on the men''s side) PSG. OM is having a great season after a very bad start, they had many new players who probably needed time to blend in but now the excellent work made by coach Parra is emerging....they won eight matches of their last nine matches.
It's looking steadily less likely that PSG's point deduction will actually matter when it comes to battling for first place. If they keep dropping points like this and Montpellier can figure out how to deal with Jacobsson's absence, though, the outcome of the appeal may still matter for the UWCL next year!
Too many bad things happened to PSG since the end of last year, luck seems not to be on their side.... not only for the points deducted but the continious serious injuries of too many key players (Boulleau, Erika, Katoto) plus not being able to count on Henry anymore....It will be very tough to finish the season well as even Cristiane went off injured yesterday. Montpellier it all depends on young forward stepping up to take Jakobsson's place while she's out, Blackstenius, Leger and Gauvin are only 21 years old so I don't think , due to their very young age, that they could deliver week in week out.....Anyway, here are the highlights of the historical OM's victory.. Sandrine Bretigny celebrated her goal as you should when you score in a so important game for your city... Here are the players celebrationin the dressing room, the man talking is Zubizareta ex-Barca goalie and now working for Marseille men team. He said he really enjoyed the girls game
Lol, I guess it was from old Brandi Chastain's times that I hadn't seen a female player celebrating by taking her shirt off! By the way, has she been yellow-carded for that? Is there a specific rule about punishing this kind of celebrations in French League?
The caution for removing your shirt is a FIFA mandate (Its in FIFA's Interpreation of the LOTG as an action that "must be cautioned") and not league-to-league.
If the referee is worth his salt, then yes. And according to this soccerway report, she received a caution in the 76'.
Matchday 16 highlights: Best goal could only be Bretigny's not only because is actually not so evident to score to Kiedrzynek, D1F's best goalie, directly from free kick, but also for the importance of the goal and the celebration, I know that goal means a lot for Bret knowing her well. Very special mention to Alex Morgan exquisite outside boots after another genius assist from Marozsan...starting at 7:52..., when OL signed Alex I told you for me she could be very useful...even decisive in some very close games...because despite being at her ease technically, better than many thinks, Morgan likes to play without the ball by attacking spaces....only Thomis do that at Lyon. The only problem is the very short time that her new teammates have to figure out her movement but with Abily and Maro OL have the players who could give her these ball-through devastating for defense. ps: yes Bretigoal received a yellow card for her celebration. Imho to give one for that is way too harsh, there is obviously an irrational reason why she took her shirt off and is called PASSION for the game. Unfortunately at FIFA they never heard about that........
Division 1 feminine matchday 17 results: O. Lyon - Rodez: 8-0 ; Hegerberg 2x, Lavogez, Mbock, Tarrieu 2x, Petit, Bremer O. Marseille - Guingamp: 2-0 ; Gadea, Loze Juvisy - Saint-Etienne: 3-0 ; Greboval, Thiney, Diani Paris SG - Soyaux: 2-0 ; Morroni, Lahmari Albi - Montpellier: 0-1 ; Cayman Bordeaux - Metz: 1-2; Laurent /Williams, Wenger League table: Goalscorers: 1) Hegerberg (ol) 16 goals 2) Le Sommer (ol) 15 goals 3) Jakobsson (mhsc) 14 goals 4) Delie (psg) 13 goals 5) Abily (ol) 10 goals 6) Bourgouin (soy) 9 goals 7) Catala (juv), Cristiane (psg) 8 goals 9) Amani (gui), Asseyi (om) 7 goals My thought: They finally made it!!! Yes!!....FC Metz FINALLY won its first game of the season at the seventeeth try..better late than never...thanks to Merryl Wenger's goal at minute 85.... Marseille continues to impress in its first season at the highest level. Easy win for Lyon "B" against Rodez, who conceided 14 goals in two matches against them ...Buchanan, Renard, Morgan, Abily, Maroszan, Kumagai, Majri, Le Sommer didn't play and weren't even on the bench while Seger, Hegerberg, Bremer played one half each...which means they all gonna start against Wolfsburg on Wednesday. A curioisty, Ada Hegerberg aside none of the first ten D1F goalscorers have scored in this matchday...I'm pretty sure it never happened before.
Wendie Renard news: She did! Extended her contract by five years today. And haha they're having Precheur (who will stay for maybe five months?) pose with her: Wendie Renard will stay 5 more years with OL!!! 🔴🔵 pic.twitter.com/Nh9qwxj1jy— Olympique Lyonnais 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@OL_English) March 30, 2017
Matchday 17 highlights: Best goal is Metz's Meryll Wenger starting at 13:30 . Important goal because it gave her team their first victory of the season but is also always beautiful to see goals from that far. Honorable mention to Gaetane Thiney one at 11:10. In the interview @AndyHE posted Wendie Renard says she was about to sign at Chelsea but she changed her mind last minute before it became official after having private conversation with Aulas, Le Graet (FFF president, very close to female football) and received message from Lyon politicians (she certainly talks about the mayor of the city...even though in France is well known Aulas is the king of Lyon....) and of course the fans who let her known how much they love her. Wendie is a massive Premier league fan, it always was her dream to play in England and she was spotted at Stamford Bridge with her mum not long ago so her words on being very close to sign for Chelsea are certainly true but I'm amazed that to convince her to extend her contract Aulas brought all this people....Anyway, Great news for D1F.
They keep dropping points! They managed to lose a 3-0 lead at home against Guingamp, while Montpellier beat OM 5-0 and takes over second place. 66'|3-0| Dernier changement pour les #Parisiennes➡️ @0uleyeSarr ⬅️ @NatasaAndonova #PSGEAG— PSG Féminines (@PSG_Feminines) April 2, 2017 90'|3-3| Fin du match ! ..and, after Renard's 5 years renewal, we have Saki Kumagai extend her contract with OL to 2020. Looks like this thread's speculations at the beginning of this year were all over the place... You have to say, though, that probably these days management at OL sees Kumagai more as a MF than as a CB. Nonetheless, it's obvious that they consider her a key-part of this team and don't have the slightest intention to waive her soon...
