Agreed. We need to make it a 3-4 goal thing at least. However, if by the 75th minute we are up 2-0 or if by the 60th we are 3-0, I'd understand giving Falcao, James and/or Cuadrado a rest.

It depends on a lot of things. 4 points is a must, 6 would be great.

That is probably the worst part of the calendar, 5 months without any activity and a lot of things can happen in the meanwhile.

True, but this Venezuela looks waaaaay worse than 4 years ago. They have only 5 points compared with 15 at the same point in the last qualifiers. They have received 29 goals vs 12 that they had received by this point during the last cycle.

You are probably right but I think that there is a nicer scenario for our game: Brazil locks their WC berth by beating Ecuador in August 31st and they are in celebration mood, plus they rest some of their stars for the game in Barranquilla in September 5th. If Ecuador draw or beat them, I can see a very though game and they putting all their effort in our match. Furthermore, of lately this fixture is becoming very physical and rough so I don't expect Brazil to just let us walk away with the points.

Venezuela goes Super Saiyan against us. Also they are eliminated we need to beat them and they know that. They aren't just going to bend over and let us score on them.

Hope Armani gets the call up. 10 goals in 2 games...... and prob not another chance to play for Ospina is worrisome

10 goals in 2 games..... no goal his fault? Come on man. WE are all Ospina fans but getting scored that many times on cant be good for someones confidence. He needs to force his way out of Arsenal this summer.

I watched the game and the goals.....and actually in both matches he made important saves

there is a cause of the result.......

i know that you love scapegoats.

but untrust of ospina because he has a shitt.y team that cant compete agisnt bayern.....just show how works your “analisys“

Why never look the background?? just repeat “ 10 goals in 2 matches“ so “obvouisly“ he sucks and is guilty

Do you even watch a game on TV, or you just play them in your xbox? Seriously, people who watches games and analyse them for a living think Ospina did a good job, but Arsenal is in disarray and apparently the whole team dropped their hands in this match. It also seems that Sanchez and Wegener were in a confrontation and it affected his relation with his teammates. Futbol is as complex as life, you just don't judge everything by the score line. BTW, rumor is that Sanchez and Ospina are leaving in the summer.

Ospina was not at fault in either game.

First game - he actually prevented it from being 10-1 and had the second most touches of any arsenal player. a GK is not supposed to have that many touches in a game. LOL

Second game - things really fell apart when Arsenal lost their defender Koscielny for the 2nd game in a row against Bayern.

    http://www.espnfc.us/club/arsenal/3...s-league-exit-and-capitulate-vs-bayern-munich

the team really fell apart and you can't blame ospina. if anything, ospina should get more playing time for EPL games - cameras zoomed into both Cech and Sanchez giggling like school girls while on the bench when it was 5-1. i can't imagine any manager taking kind to that kind of behavior

I was reading something about Sanchez issues and how Wegener sucks at being manager. Apparently the two had a confrontation during training prior to the Liverpool game. Sanchez walked away and several guys were upset at him and let him know. Reports say Wegener benched Sanchez for that reason and you'd expect him to not play him if that was the case.

So what did Wegener do when Arsenal fell 2-0 in the first half at Anfield? He put Sanchez in.

Guess what? He lost the command over the team.

Arsene is no longer in control, the team is no longer obeying his commands and I have the feeling that Koscielzny is one of the few leaders keeping the things together on the field. With his ejection yesterday, the team lost direction and you can read the Cech/Sanchez images as two guys happy with their boss failing.

if you really want to humor yourself, watch Arsenal Fan TV. Wenger has lost the confidence of all the fans

the thing about Arsenal is they do this every year where they melt down by March, but yet still find a way to finish in the top 4 of the EPL, make it to the knockout rounds of the CL and progress to a respectful stage of the FA/League Cup. In the the case of the FA Cup, they have won it 2 times recently, but it's not like people were doing cartwheels over that trophy.

Just curious as to who people here would compare our NT to in Europe?

Belgium comes to mind for me....

Absent from world cups in 2006 and 2010 with a handful of world class players mixed in with several under the radar players who play throughout Europe or South America.

2014 was a breakout year for both teams in terms of maintstream attention but despite a strong NT ranking, there are still several areas of concern, especially when facing more experienced and/or established "powerhouse" nations

James/Hazard both are at a similar age and can be considered an on-field general when it comes to the midfield/attack.

someone asked me this the other day and i thought it generated some good discussion....

Belgium has always been my immediate thought for years but at the same time they have never played well with the generation they have. Some people say its Marc Wilmots their manager that just isn't good enough, some say its their players that just aren't as good as the press want to make you believe. They are more well known to the public because many of them play in "the greatest league in the world" (England). So people assume they are ready to win the world cup because of where they play which doesn't necessarily mean one thing or another.

I am going to sound like Pibe10 now but I really do think Yimmi Chara deserves a call up.
He is playing very well for Monterrey.

The only thing about him that is a negative is that I don't know how he would fit into Pekerman's system. He is not really a DFM. He is not really a forward. He is kind of an attacking midfielder but not really the type I could see next to James. (But that is for Pekerman to figure out.)
