http://www.skysports.com/football/n...s-record-breaking-goalscoring-run-broken-down impressive. wish we could do that
He really did have another solid performance for Granada over the weekend. Let's hope that United don't mess it up with him. He needs to come back and have a genuine chance to compete for a place in the squad this summer. He could add some quality depth and provide something different, if required.
If AP is doing so well then why don't we flip Pogba to PSG and buy Fabinho and Auba. We would dramatically improve.
@Gnome where do you see him in a future United side? Given Pogba and Herrera's age and the fact that we need a 6, where does he fit in? Squad player? He almost seems too talented for that. In a 4-3-3, cutting down off a wing?
Pereira could serve several functions on the team for the short to medium term and would arguably still see his fair share of games. Depending on the formation being used, he can be an option at the 10 spot, in the playmaker's role or could even play on the wings as well. The position he'd more than likely occupy in a 4-3-3 for now. Depending on the opponent though, he could be an alternative to Pogba as well in an advanced, offensive role from midfield. With time, he perhaps could be more and take Herrera's place, it's something that has been debated before and I believe that, as he develops and grows into his game, he can become a top 8 in the game but he needs to develop some facets to his game (especially on the defensive side). He's still very, very young and with his talent, there's no telling what he can ultimately become. But the quality, instinct and adaptability are elements that have clearly been on display for him without a doubt.
This dude killed his girlfriend, fed her body to dogs, all because he didn't want to pay child support. He got a 22 year sentence yet is somehow out due to Brazil's ********ed up court system after 7 years, and got signed by a club. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ll-bruno-fernandes-de-souza-murder-girlfriend
That's the spot that I'd imagine is available may for Pereira to try and take. If we get a real 6 and Jose actually used him and Pogba correctly, our midfield could really be set.
What you have to remember Gilma is that some of our fans are very fickle. 1 bad game and they want them out....1-2 great games and we have to build the team around them. Rojo is a prime example amongst United fans this season. He has a some great warrior performances and some fans start to think...hmmm, maybe we should keep him. 1 shocker and he's the biggest load of crap, and should be sold to a third division side.
Pereira is not ready to step into Herrera's shoes right now. It's that simple. Still doesn't change the fact that he potentially as a role to play in the team as soon as next season and hopefully, he'll have an opportunity to show it. And that role can grow very quickly as long as he applies himself and continues his development as he has been.
That's not true @Karloski . Every single time Rojo plays at LB, he gets stick. Most of the time when he plays at CB, like he did today, people are perfectly fine with him staying as a squad CB.
I'm not just talking about this forum. Though I certainly remember a game this season (after he got praise for other performances)...where he had a shocker as CB, and a few posters mentioned that he should never see a first team game again.
Man, people have short memories. Rojo should go to prison with his cousins. Just because we bribe a judge 7$ and an eightball.
Rojo is the third best senior CB in the United team. He's not a good player. Both of these things are true.
That was the game to watch him in. He was extremely impressive and what he did and improved on is his hustle and defensive ability and physicality. To muscle Juanfran off the ball is not an easy task. He had balls that game, shame his IQ was not matched with the likes of Boga and Agbo both Chelsea loanees. He was open for multiple shooting chances and they kept dallying on the ball. Also his decision making is much better. Knows when to dribble and when to pass. We have to give him a chance, because he could easily end up at a team like Athletico Madrid. Also that game Wakaso Mubarak was very impressive.
Are we really talking about AP playing at CM? I mentioned this very thing a month or so ago and people lost their ********ing minds and said he a winger only and could never play at CM. Some around here are only as informed as the latest highlight video they've watched on a player.
Pereira right now, as previously mentioned, would be good alternative to Pogba in a mid 3. He's nowhere near ready to take Herrera's responsibilities at this time but it's not to say he can't become that player eventually. His offensive capability and awareness make him an option for several positions, depending on the formation the team is set up in. But as an actual 8 type, like Herrera, he still has some work to do.
Harry Kane is scheduled to see a specialist about his ankle that will determine exactly how long he could be out for, but it definitely looks like he'll be out for some time according to early prognosis. That could have some serious repercussions in the fight for the top 4 spot. Someone will have to pick up the goalscoring slack: imagine it will be a combination of guys (Alli, Son, Eriksen primarily). They can to an extent, but that's a big hole for them at the worst possible time.
