This is what i'm crossing my fingers for. Dude has loads of experience (albeit in the Championship). If nothing more he could provide great competition.

Lichaj can play RB but last time he played against decent comp internationally he looked out of place. I doubt he features for the nats in these next two wcq's. Maybe Gold Cup. Hopefully Yedlin can recover in time for the Honduras game, if not I think he will be ready for the Panama game.
Anyone can play RB... Hope a few weeks off doesn't lose DY his starting slot, though truth be told he's gotten enough games this year he can cruise into summer healthy and well rested...
well when was the last time he played for the NT? who was playing alongside him? The dude isn't starter but he's good enough to be a no2 IMO. Shame though that JK never gave him much of a chance.
I'll bet you he gets the nod at right or left back if Yedlin can't go, and he'll be at the next set of qualifiers regardless. Bruce mentioned him in interviews and respects the Championship much more than Jurgen did. Also not one to hold it against a guy for dropping a level out of monetary and p.t. interests. The game you're referring to was 6 years ago. He's improved since then, as players usually do past their early 20's. He also started out well against Mexico, before switching sides due to the Cherundolo injury, subsequent to which he got lit up a bit. Honduras and Panama are no Mexico anyway. His experience and proof provides you assurances Rosenberry, Zusi, and even maybe Villafana doesn't. And if you opted for Villafana, Johnson may have to switch sides himself. Lichaj may not be Dani Alves, but he provides reliability we need in this situation, if Yedlin is out. Hell, he might start at lb even if Yedlin is available, and Bruce wants to move Fabian higher.
Nottingham is in sorry shape, but Eric has been playing well. He's the captain now, by the way. Of course, being one of the best players in a club that is barely above the red line in the Championship is not exactly awesome.
Is everyone forgetting Chandler? The Honduras game is in San Jose, the weather wouldn't be an issue at least for that game.
USMNT Winter Progress Report: DeAndre Yedlin http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/us...4/usmnt-winter-progress-report-deandre-yedlin I think he has fantastic vision. He is a quick thinker and makes decisions with confidence. With that, not all his decisions are good and he definitely must work on taking his time with the ball as well. He likes to dribble the ball as well and has great control. Roles change and it all depends on how Rafa handles the summer transfer window. I think that he has made enough waves to see himself as a consistent starter at right back. But we also could use more defense in midfield, a role that he can fulfill as well. I think he'll be used more often next year but likely in the same capacity as this year.
seems like yedlin looking even better by comparison with newcastle getting smoked right now by fulham
Newcastle got waxed at home 1-3 and the whole backline was bad according to fans....so I guess that's a positive for Yedlin. However, Rafa said they're getting a second opinion on DY's injury which scares me very much if we're being honest.
Expected to miss five weeks. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...andre-yedlin-assessment-thigh-injury-12748597
