The game hits stores on Tuesday, March 7th. The open beta runs from Thursday, February 23rd to Monday, February 27th. Anyone else here looking forward to this game? -G
Saw enough that I decided to go ahead and pick up the game on Xbox. Should keep me entertained until Mass Effect.
Can you even have a post-launch trailer before the game is released? In other news, apparently Bolivia isn't too happy at how it's portrayed in the game... Curious about the timing. They've talked about the game and it's setting for a long time. You're going to complain less than a week before the game is launched? Why not do it at a time when you could actually get something changed?
booted up and set up my character this morning, ran around doing a few side missions before work too. I never really looked during the beta but man that map appears to be large with a bunch of bosses. Gotta check with my friend but considering knocking the difficulty up a level from normal to force us to use more stealth tactics instead of run and gun.
Found out you shouldn't run over farmers with a tractor last night. Also don't shoot at everyone running at you with a gun, they may be rebels. This game isn't the most polished but dang is it fun. Friend and I had a good laugh at how exaggerated the cosmetic damage on cars are. Slowly bump into another car and your hood is almost completely smashed in. HA!
The vehicle controls in general are wonky as well. Flight controls especially. When you're trying to stay close to the treeline to keep off of SAM radar, turning in a plane and not hitting the ground can be a challenge. Biggest no-no I have a problem with is shooting surrendering enemies. You can get a game over if you do it too many times, and I have a problem noticing they've given up before I pull the trigger.
Farmers certainly don't like it when you do that. In fairness, though, it's harder to tell a rebel from the others at night. Especially if you're driving a smashed in Santa Blanca vehicle near a Santa Blanca compound. The nearest guards there will see the damage and immediately be alarmed. -G
It does take some getting used to, even when using a keyboard & mouse. Too many civilians killed will also get you a game over, though you'll hear it from your squad mates even if you accidentally kill one or two. Yesterday my squad was in a firefight against some cartel thugs who were taking cover behind the car they parked on the side of a somewhat busy road. I tossed a frag grenade at their car and right at the moment when my grenade landed, a civilian car drove by right next to them. The grenade ended up killing both the thugs and the civilians. -G
The first pic was taken at a slightly higher resolution than the other two: I hope that they turned out okay. -G
Not really playing the missions in this yet, just slowly going around completing the side missions. Still having tons of fun Late Saturday night I ended up playing with some random players and one was able to call in a helicopter, whats up with that?
One of the side missions allows you to call up the rebels and ask for a vehicle. Like all the rebel support powers they can be leveled up. On the third level you get a helicopter when you ask for a vehicle.
Ahh, I've ignored those side missions cause I didn't feel the need to get more vehicles but calling in a helicopter would be nice.
The game's first DLC (Narco Road) is now available for Season Pass owners and will be available on Tuesday, April 25th for everyone else.
Whew, I'm still going around cleaning out the 3 skull maps, definitely not gonna need any extra content. I added it out, if each map had 6 main missions there are about 96 of them.
Title Update 4 is now available, with the game's second DLC (Fallen Ghosts) arriving on Tuesday, May 30th for Season Pass holders and on Tuesday, June 6th for everyone else. -G
