Doesn't look like the Galaxy will need the extra seating to be added to Stubhub Center, as they have failed to sellout the season opener, with 23554 in attendance using the old configuration.

Wow, that's surprising. After years of Beckham, Donovan, Keane, and Gerrard, who wouldn't be excited to see the debuts of Romain Alessandrini and Jack McBean? Perhaps they need a Paraguayan.
Why are you pretending that these players always sold out home openers when they played? LA home opener 2009: 18,013 LA home opener 2010: 21,500 LA home opener 2013: 20,127 LA home opener 2015: 25,634 The 23,554 is right in line. And you are only 6 years late on the debut of Jack McBean who first debuted in 2011.

It's as if the national broadcast partners and the league are doing a good job in selecting which games (and expected crowds) to highlight on the schedule (in Week 1, at least).

I'm still cautious about how well it will be going forward, and will be incredibly thankful if they simply average the 30k avg comprised of st holders from here on out, plus I know we still have much work to do on the original chant front. Having said that... I never thought I would see what I saw tonight in our fair city. The place was not only full but most everyone wore gear and stood for the whole match! I loved it and if we recreate that for near every match that would not only be surreal but it would mean we'll have given this city ownership of a sporting identity like it's never known. I'm so thrilled and so proud right now. Thank you to all my fellow AUFC fans who gave their all tonight. I hope we continue to represent MLS well going forward.
Let's hope the team in Atlanta isn't terrible, scaring off the fans. Given their coaching choice, they aren't doing it "the MLS way" and that often fails. NYFC last season was an exception.
It's early, but... No worries there, mate. We love coach Tata Martino and he's bending over backwards trying to win over the city. Most of us understand this is a long-term project and we're in it for the full haul.
It's almost reassuring, in these uncertain times, how consistently glass half empty you are. I salute you!
Atlanta should be fine. Even if they lose some games they will go down swinging. They look like they are going to he VERY fun to watch.
