China's soccer problems stem from coaching to grassroots. Its all about structural issues. No coaching change will erase this deficit. I fear for Lippi

It's too late for China, it will be hard to catch up in the standings.

Good luck China even though I think it's mission impossible at this point. You can still fight for playoffs.

Please keep Qatar, Uzbekistan and South Korea busy. It can be a good practice for AC or other competitions. I guess it is a little late for Fifa 2018 now.

It'll be interesting to see who Lippi calls up for his first China squad.

Not too much different than the previous.

No Du Wei or Zhang Xiaobin

I don't understand the inclusion of Fu Huan

Still waiting for Ji Xiang to get called up

And yet it is arguably the best lineup we have seen called up for like what, eternity? That is how pathetic the recent personnel selections have been. This is already way better than what Perrin was doing after he continuously left off Zhang Xizhe and Huang Bowen for no reason when the team had no creativity whatsoever in the final third.

Im sure once Lippi settles in he will be able to discover newer players such as Ji Xiang and Xie Pengfeng. The guy has been away from the CSL for 2 years now so he probably selected players he knew most about

Only the national team. He terminated his contract with Evergrande to become China's manager.

Cao Yunding is a great call-up after the season he's had with Shenhua. Excited to see him play for China.

Hope China begin to improve under Lippi's management, but feel like they will, they have been playing much better. Just need to get the results now.

If any of you could take the time to fill out a survey I have for Chinese EPL fans, I would be very grateful, thanks. https://strathbusiness.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3qvFKIOyFU0izhH

Its not an important cup, so they aren't going to field their best players. Probably only an experimental squad

This tourney doesn't fall on a FIFA date.

Well, sort of: as I mentioned above this tourney does not fall on a FIFA date. That being said, Pizzi, Chile's coach, did call up 3 starters: Jara, Beausejour and Edú Vargas.

The first two play in Chile and Vargas is based in Germany but his club coach doesn't rate him so he'd probably care less if he plays in China or not.

    Did Lippi announce China's squad?

Lippi called up a very experimental squad for Iceland. Most of the squad has never been called up to play for China before.

GK: Yan Junling, Yang Qipeng, Zou Dehai
DF: Bai Yuefeng, Yang Shanping, Bai Jiajun, Fu Huan, Gao Zhunyi, Li Jianbin, Pei Shuai
MF: Cai Huikang, Hu Rentian, Cao Yunding, Hui Jiakang, Chen Zhongliu, Chi Zhongguo, Cui Min, Fan Xiaodong, Feng Gang, Wang Jinxian, Yin Hongbo
    FW: Wu Lei, Mao Jianqing

    Hi, Zhou.

    Thanks for the info.

Could you include the clubs these players ply their trade for?
