Not at all, the penalty was a penalty, though not a clear one, and Borja's red was a red. Should have not pushed him in anger at all. Nacional could still get something as they are still dangerous up front but if they lose, Los Verdolagas have only themselves to blame for not scoring when they were dominant.

I'm not sure about that though, not sure if the referee should have given a penalty. It was a handball from Alvaro but 100% unintentional. That said I don't know too much into that "unintentional" rule

pen wasn't a pen or a foul, Cerro have done nothing at all all game. Nacional have had at least 3-4 clear opportunities and I can't think of one for Cerro. Even so, Nacional continue to play better with ten men. I'm just hoping it ends 1-0 or 1-1. Because im more than certain Nacional can and will overturn this.

So bitter. Penalty was a penalty whether you like it or not. There was contact in the challenge and it wasn't towards the ball. Borja got sent off for aggression.

I can tell you're frustrated though and I do understand that frustration. Get it all the time when I watch Peru or Peruvian clubs in these competitions.

Cerro isn't winning deservedly but the way Cecilio is winning in the mental department, he may have not done much but is still the player of the match for me.

I'll say as much though as the referee is favouring Cerro. After that foul I can say that, however I do think the penalty and red card were justified.

That's a brilliant result for Nacional, they deserved the draw as well.

I do think Cerro have what it takes to win in Medellin though, especially now without Borja, although Nacional are definitely now firm favourites for the final. A bit disappointed with Cerro but that was the worst game they were going to play all tournament. They'll be better in the second leg.

It's not a penalty and even the commentators on fox (and other football person around the twitter) said it. There was a contact, but no penalty. If referees will have to whistle on every contact inside the box, we will get 4-5 each per game. It was a LOCAL TEAM penalty if you want to put it this way - not a chance that the same case would be given to Nacional.
Also, Borja red card was a f*cking joke. First, it was a clear foul ON Borja, then Borja's reaction shouldve' been booking at max. But now, just like he screwed us vs. Uruguay a month ago, Pitana had to still the show. He's the only ref on earth that I actually hate.

We were way way better the Cerro, especially in the first half. I'm glad that we got the away goal and now Cerro will have to work hard in Medellin but we will be without Borja (Who really killed the game :p). Anyway, proud of the team, I believe we will finish them in Medellin.

Ohh, I have a new name to the Paraguayans - Pitana Porteño :D

These are the games that Colombian teams past found ways to suffer and lose. Then find a way to get a 0-0 in the second leg and leave the tournament in disgrace.

What makes Atletico Nacional so good and so different than any other Colombian teams past is that they find ways to grind out positive results and then break the hearts of their opponents when they play in Medellin.

Looks like they are half way there to doing that again.

I think you WAY overrate cerro. They're a good team but historically they're notorious underachievers. I don't know how you come to the conclusion that this was going to be their toughest game at home with being a man up for a whole half. And now u expect them to play better away than they did yesterday? I think you forget that they were minutes away from being eliminated by Santa Fe at one point in this cup.

I'm not overrating them at all - if this was the only Cerro Porteno game you saw then no wonder you think that. Easily their worst game in the whole tournament.

You are right that they are historic underachievers but they beat Santa Fe 4-1 and avoided a loss against Medellin to finish them at home. I think Cerro have what it takes to win in Medellin but as I said Nacional who were favourites to win the tie, are now FIRM favourites to reach the final.

About Borja - I agree it was a foul on him and it was clear, but the referee did look like he was going to call the foul. Cecilio got the yellow in the end and Borja got sent off for aggression. I've seen so many reds for aggression before from the Peru national team, I agree its very frustrating.

Luckily for you Alvaro Pereira was on the pitch so that ruled out any plans the referee had for Cerro to win the game :D

I mentioned this in the Nacional thread but by the letter of the law it could be a red card if Borja's fingers touched his face in any way.

They put that rule in this year and I remember a Sao Paulo player got a red for doing something similar in the Libertadores. I think the foul was ironically committed against Borja.

San Lorenzo drew 1-1 with Chapecoense at home last night and that to me is them out. San Lorenzo have been pretty awful away from home in this tournament and Chapecoense have been decent at home.

Chapecoense vs Cerro Porteno final for me.

Chapecoense reached the final. Chapeco's keeper made a brilliant save at the end to deny San Lorenzo of a last minute winner and they are now in the final. While I do think Chapecoense will lose to either Nacional or Cerro Porteño, they definitely shouldn't be ruled out. I thought they looked good last night. Some great dribbling and skills on the ball and do well to get past their man, they just lack decision making and intelligence in the final third and that's why the match ended goalless last night.

Tonight is the big one though. I think Cerro Porteño will win, most likely on penalties.

For the most part, its been an even game but Cerro is a little closer to the goal than Nacional.

Disappointed Cerro Porteño failed to make the final but they put up a great fight. Both had their spells of dominance but I felt Cerro had a bit more firepower than Borja-less Nacional. Rescaldani was awful.

Happy for Nacional, hope they win the final.
