I got love for Verón: had his breakout at Cobreloa before heading to Pumas. Solid player.

It's seriously frustrating how Chiqui Arce keeps leaving Willy Mendieta out of the NT. Probably the best players in the league.

Even more frustrating how he calls players like Ortigoza over him......

    Damn!

Still remember when he first came to Bayern as a young player. I lived in Munich during most of the time when he was there. Always liked him, although I'm everything but a Bayern fan. He's been a nice guy and very talented player, who, just like his friend Owen Hargreaves, often fell victim to coach Ottmar Hitzfeld's insane roster rotation. Nevertheless Roque has always been extremely popular among the club's supporters.

In 2004, Munich band Sportfreunde Stiller produced the song "Ich, Roque!" (a German wordplay, meaning "I rock!") and included him in their video.

Muchas gracias, Roque! Also good luck from Germany to the selección in their remaining World Cup qualifiers!

Lol we had an excellent team against Argentina so ofcourse Chiqui Arce needs to change everything and now we're struggling.

Sigh...when are we ever gonna have a decent coach again? I really wish I could understand how that moron thinks....

I'm obviously very happy with this but I still struggle to understand why Cecilio wasn't playing. He's absolutely brilliant

Because we have an imbecil for a coach.

We had such a good winning lineup against Argentina and he could have stuck with that same team and we probably would have been fine but noooo that's just too simple now for Chiqui Arce...we need to complicate things and struggle so lets completely change the lineup and players around.

I was one of the few people who was giving him a chance and thought maybe he finally "got it" after his disastrous first cycle as coach of the NT but hes showing to be the same idiot as the last cycle.

    God what a moron!

I'm not Paraguayan but the decision that baffled me the most was Santa Cruz coming on when they were down 2-1, as if he was the solution to the problem :ROFLMAO:

Great way to say retire him from the NT. With a 4-1 loss.

Cecilio should start the next game.

Cecilio will never start under Chiqui Arce.

Trust me, if Messi was Paraguayan, Chiqui Arce would have him on the bench. I'm not kidding...thats the lunatic we have coaching the NT at the moment.

Hopefully after we get gang raped in La Paz he gets the boot....just like the last time he was coach.

I told you so!!, Arce is a dumb ass and we all knew it before he was named coach of the NT, there is no point on wanting to lose against bolivia tomorrow, we have to win and we will still have a chance, there is no other coach now, it's Arce and that's it, another coach will not make a difference this eliminatorias, we have to win or it's over.

Arce will probably give some playing time to Cecilio tomorrow, we'll see if he is as good as you guys think he is, I'm sick of hearing his name, I got into an argument at the stadium with some guy who wouldn't shut up about Cecilio since the kick off.

I dont wanna lose but I'm sure we will and when we do Arce needs to get the boot.

Dude, he's starting Ortigoza in LA PAZ. The guy can barely run as it is so ofcourse Chiqui Arce puts him to play in over 3,000 meters above sea level.......

Harrison is not gonna fire Chiqui Arce, he pretty much made that clear. We could lose every single game for the remainder of the qualifiers and Chiqui Arce will most likely not get fired.

So the best we need to do now is just try to live with this cancer for the remainder of the qualifiers and after it's over, get a new coach and begin rebuilding for Qatar.

This is extremely frustrating. The beginning of the qualifiers looked so promising only for this collapse. I only have to ask. When are we ever gonna get out of this rut? We've been in it for far too long.

PS: Harrison is a f*ckin moron for hiring Chiqui Arce over Jubero. Jubero is by far the best coach in the league and as much as I want him to stay at Olimpia I also wanna qualify to the WC and he had the best chance at getting us there.

Arce will not get fired right now or very likely till the end of WQC, we are going down with this ship, are we going to get out of this? yes, when we start being who we are again and not pretending to be Barcelona, it is so frustrating to watch my team cry for fouls not being called, we are Paraguayans and they only people that used to play rougher than us were the Uruguayans, now you see our players crying about fouls not being called Colombia and Peru play tougher than us now, Not to mention team USA they kick the crap out of us and all our so called "talented" players did was cry to the refs.
We need to stop lying to ourselfs and realisze that, the romeros are not world class players, Almiron is not Dimaria and Mendieta is not James, they might be more talented than what we used to have but they are not nearly as tough as the players we used to have, so once you guys stop asking for crap that is not possible and we bring back the Garra Guarani, we'll be right back to where we were, you want proof?, look at Uruguay, they don't give a flying crap about weather you like them or not, and look at were they are and look at were we are.

Problem is we don't have the players to play garra guarani anymore. What are we gonna do? Call Carlos Gamarra and Toro Acuna back from retirement?

Theres only a handful of players from the garra era left, if you noticed all of our new talent are "jogo bonito" types. And that might actually be part of the problem because its not what we're used to and have no idea how to use it.

We need a coach who's gonna know how to transition that and get us comfortable to that. The sad thing is that Chiqui Arce actually KNOWS how to do that and he's showed it against Chile and Argentina but the guy is too much of a mental case to actually stick with the winning formula.

Looks like Jubero left anyways. Seems kinda fishy he unexpectedly leaves just when Libertad needs a coach and now there are talks of them wanting him. If it turns out he left us for more money at Libertad then screw him.

Just sucks big time because its gonna be hard to find a coach as good as he was and we're also gonna be without Mendieta for 6 months and Mendieta is the backbone of the team.

Jubero sucks, he is just as bad or worse than chiqui arce, he thinks he is mourinho and always manages to lose crucial games, the team has been playing like crap from the beggining of the season, we managed to be contenders because we have a pretty talented team, also last year we went on a crazy run, not because jubero is a genious but because Mendieta was on fire, anyways good I'm glad he left.

I'm not getting my hopes up too much again. This team is very unstable, we beat Argentina in Buenos Aires only to lose to Peru at home afterwards so we'l see.

    Next game is BEYOND important.

I think you'll win. You lost to us because our style a la peruana has always complicated the paraguayans style of play, and also because we are playing amazing football at the moment. Uruguay at home to me is a guaranteed draw because the 2 styles clash and cancel out. Just like at the Copa America 2015.

What did I say? This team is full of choke artists. I can't even blame Chiqui Arce for this one. These players just lack balls kinda like the last minute chokes against Brazil and Ecuador in Quito. The with in Argentina followed by a loss at home vs Peru. Every time things start to look up they find a way to screw it up. No way we win in Colombia who always whoops our a$$es and a win vs Venezuela won't do much so its safe to say were done. Now time to find a real coach please and stop experimenting with failures.
