This kid didn't pass through Academy and give us a chance to make up stupid thread titles (although maybe he belongs there - this one is a little fuzzy) but former Furman star midfielder, Noah Teplitzky, is the only American in the First Division of Costa Rican football. Congrats to former Paladin Noah Teplitzky who signed with Costa Rican 1st Division side @MUNICIPALPZ! pic.twitter.com/gVsWakQkNV— Furman Men's Soccer (@FurmanSoccer) September 19, 2016 He made his debut on 2 Oct playing 45 minutes of a 1 - 1 draw with Santos DG. These have been his only minutes since joining the team in mid September but he has been on the bench in two other fixtures. In the first of these, a 2 - 2 draw with Herediano, the latter petitioned UNAFUT to restore their lost two points claiming that "Noha" Lucien Teplitzky, an American, was on the bench without a work permit. PZ countered that since he was a "high performance" player (Alto Rendimiento - perhaps one of our Ticos can explain this category better), he did not need a work permit. "'este muchacho es del Alto Rendimiento y por eso no tiene ninguna relación contractual ni económica con el club. No es un jugador profesional, no necesita permiso de trabajo o tener relación contractual onerosa. Eso ya está discutido, fue inscrito en la Unafut y no existen normas en el reglamento que diga que tiene que tener ese permiso', explicó Artavia." "'this kid is High Performance and doesn't have any contractual nor economic relationship with the club. He is not a professional player, he doesn't need a work permit or to have an onerous contractual relationship. This has already been discussed, he was enrolled in UNAFUT and there is nothing in the rules to suggest that he needs to have this permit,' explained Artavia." http://www.nacion.com/deportes/futb...itaria-puntos-Perez-Zeledon_0_1586441407.html Herediano subsequently lost their appeal and Noah went on to a glorious 45 minutes and (we hope) many more to come. Here is link to the club's official announcement: http://www.municipalpz.net/blog/comunicado-jugador-alto-rendimiento-noah-teplitzky/ His club photo: And the apparent reason he shaved his head: Okay, I can't end this without, at least, making a stab at it: "Noah's Arc(tico): Teplitzky in Costa Rica"
Kinda been done already... http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/have-ark-will-travel-noah-sadaoui-at-ajax-cape-town.1990513/
Not much to add, just wanted to say to Eighteen Alpha that this is a quality OP. Any new members who want to know how to template these things well, this is it.
Based on the Costan Rican league Wiki page, Alto Rendimiento seems to refer to some sort of youth development league. Reading between the lines, it seems like maybe he was signed to a non-professional youth contract? The article you found says he's not being paid.
That's what I found as well. But, apparently, you can be a youth league player but still play for the first team. Noah is absolutely part of the first team roster and registered as such with UNAFUT. I wonder what's in it for him?
It's the luck of Lucien: Noah Lucien Teplitzky recently moved to Atletico Pinto in what I believe is Spain's fourth division. http://www.futmadrid.com/noticia/no...el-atletico-pinto-en-el-mercado-invernal.html
T'Markt does in fact say he moved again, to Los Yebenes, which I haven't yet confirmed. https://www.transfermarkt.de/noah-teplitzky/profil/spieler/469794
