The league has its ups and downs. It allows our players to play alongside very good foreigners, but the problem is that its come down to the point where they carry the team and all the Chinese players are just there for support. Take those foreigners away and then they don't know how to attack.

I think part of the reason we lost is due to the fact that we continue to rely on long balls rather than short passing. Syria did well to press to prevent us from playing the ball on the ground.

There were many times where they showed that they don't know how to bring the ball up the field. They pass it to the forwards and then don't move. A bunch of times where they had the ball and had a lot of time. No one was near them, but they just passed it off. That just does nothing for the attack, didn't even run or pull away defenders, nothing. Then we have players like Jiang Zhipeng who don't know that they can't carry the ball and should just pass it lol. Didn't know their was worse than Ren Hang. Idk I always blame the MF.

if you have high blood pressure, don't watch the highlight of the game.
unfortunately i watched the whole game, so i will need to go through alcoholic therapy soon.

gu chao is too shaky. zeng cheng is still injured, i thought wang dalei would be called up; but that's not the case.
yang xu looks like a miserable sheep on the pitch. i am not sure if calling dong xuesheng up would make a difference. the game result is unexpected.

syria played like it's their home game.

i still have that image where hao junmin can't catch up the the opponent and fell on the ground. lucky syria didn't scored the second goal. looking gu chao's reaction is priceless..

And there goes any chance of getting something out of this game. This team just doesn't look like they want to win...

Interesting point. Not at one stage throughout this entire group have China looked like they wanted to win a game let alone looked like they could.

Same tactics. Same shitty passing. Try a long ball and pray it reaches someone. Next to non-existent teamwork.

    Deserved loss.

non-existent mid field. Attack is organized from the mid field to the forwards. the gap is too big if they skip the midfielders and go directly to the forwards. Good try.

What exactly happened with this team between the asian cup and the qualifiers? I dont track the team much in between, but China played so well in Australia and it just seems like a huge regression in the entire WCQ... 0-0 with HK, the Qatar away... I thought with the CSL getting stronger two seasons would be helpful in the development of the team...

Either its a mental thing or other teams in Asia simply don't take the Asian Cup seriously. While there is no excuse for the team to have performed so pathetically in this WCQ round, we have to remember that this is the first time this generation has made it this far in qualifying. Add to the fact that the fans and media are pretty ruthless, the players were probably under a whole lot of pressure. Now it may be a poor analogy to say we are the England of Asia (man if we had even half the skill of the english team ....), but that is really the case rn

...lol... saw that england of asia analogy before but its silly because england can actually qualify for the tournaments and then choke on the big stage... probably more like Iran lol

I forgot to say the biggest joke on the team was Jiang Zhipeng lol. The substitute got subbed off.

First game for China U-19 is against Australia tomorrow. The second game is on October 18 against Tajikistan and the final group game is on October 21 against Uzbekistan.

China lost 1-0 to Australia but they played pretty well. Good going forward but couldn't score.
