Ok, just got around to doing the cap check thing. Of course it shows zero, whatevs. But it is accurate with the years (7), which puts me in Silver. So technically no one can be at 10 years (program started in '09). And I know a lot of us have 25+ caps but can't imagine they just take people word for it. So any Golds on here?
Silver here. Should be Gold but whatever. They way the are doing the lottery is stupid. It sounds like they have a pot of tickets for each level of membership. If you are Gold and do not win the Gold lottery, you get included in the Silver lottery etc.... Why not fill all of the applications from Gold and then if there are tickets left fill from Silver and down the line? It seems as though Gold members should be guaranteed tickets for matches like this.
Yes. USSSC accepted a spreadsheet documenting all my caps, moving me from Silver (1 cap) to Gold (now at 81 caps). Their database is still screwy, crediting me with 130 caps.
outside of a spreadsheet, did they require any other documents/validation? (and no, eddie...i'm not doubting the number of your caps, i've seen your gray hair...
No. The spreadsheet was good enough to document my caps. My situation may be exceptional, however, because I go to so many qualifiers, especially away ones. The staffer who gave me my ticket at the team hotel in Guatemala City accepted my spreadsheet proposal.
Also, didn't the Supporters Club used to have a membership portal where you could see your information, match schedule, benefits, etc? Is that gone? I was only interested because it would have my user history and when I would need to renew membership.
I sent in photos of my ticket stubs. One benefit of being a weirdo who collects them all. They just wrote an email back and said okay we updated you to 47. That's all I have though. Just an email saying we added them. No way to check otherwise that I know of
Something similar with me. I have 9 caps and all show up, but my total was doubled to 18 and my first name turned into "undefined". The last I heard was from a USSSC representative on April 28: "The member portal is still being developed. As soon as it is up and running you will be notified." I may email them soon about both issues. I feel stupid asking them to lower my cap count, but I want my next match to be a "milestone match", and also I want the satisfaction of knowing that I've earned the caps I'm credited with.
The app to check your cap count/list and status is here: http://membership.ussoccer.com/caps-and-years There's still no portal, so as far as fixing your status it's just a matter of playing email tag with membership@ussoccer.org
"At this time we do not have an update as to when a member portal will be available." Well that's just great.
@Real Corona ha, was laughing today when I received the USSC Survey request. Would not like to be on the receiving end of whoever reads your results.
Haha I just said that you should always do your best to ensure your best fans get access to tickets going forward. And that you should ensure your systems and processes are tested and smoothed out before you release them to the public.
Will being a member drastically increase my chances of being able to get tickets for the WCQ in Azteca? Or would it be a $55 donation with no real return outside of a scarf?
yep, what RC said. probably not much issue getting tix, but...... My guess is something along these lines: - Mex Fed will allocate approx 300 tickets to US Fed. - US Fed will work with AO to allow them approx 50 tix for their travel package. - US Fed will open rest up to USSC members, with any extras going for public sale. - Depending on demand US Fed may do a full lottery type of thing, if so then USSC membership is highly recommended. Oh, and the scarf is priceless.
AO will have more than 50 members on their package for this game and I suspect that US Soccer will have access to more than 300 tickets. AO had more than 50 members on their package for this game last cycle and the section we were in could hold more than 300 I suspect.
Yep, and I put in approx to help with some examples. It all starts with how many tix the Mex Fed allocates, which is in direct correlation with how many we allocated to them in Columbus. Either way, the point should have been that being a USSC member will greatly help your chances in these types of situations.
The worth of renewing appears to be a moot point for me; I still have not received an email with membership renewal instructions a week after the date I was told to expect it by the USSSC representative on the phone. I know I'm getting their emails because I got the email with the survey [twice]. Apparently they really don't want my $55. Or perhaps they're trying to force me to allow my membership to lapse so I have to start back down at "Blue Level"...
I think it actually doesn't expire until January 22nd but I like to get things done ahead of time so I don't end up forgetting. The online USSSC portal they deactivated used to let me renew as early as the beginning of December. I was told that the renewal email should have arrived December 22nd [a month before the expiration date]. I doubt I could have set up auto renewal even if I wanted to.
