If you arrive to bogota, you SHOULD GO to Home Burger, best burger i have ate in years!!! @dirtysanchez
colombian burgers are heavenly, I miss them. I've been meaning to go to a place here somewhere but I don't always have the time to drive all the way over there from here
"just".... you may need to some digging into what goes into 'ground beef'. Burgers are cheap for a reason I don't even mind that ground meat may have several parts of 'everything'. The issue is that one single ground beef patty can usually come from several sources ALL over the world. Unless, you have a properly sourced purveyor and a restaurant owner that's willing to buy (and therefore their clients pay) for lean cuts from a known source. In the 'perfect world' you can take a fatty cut of beef and grind it down, like mom used to make. But when you run a restaurant, that becomes much harder to sustain.
I'm a bit of a food snob. Not picky. But if you're going to give me something, anything (ex: Ants), than they need to be better than the description of 'taste like peanuts'.
I'm a vegetarian now, but i always wanted to eat bugs like Crickets, beetles, dragon flies and Worms.. Maybe i will make an exception for Insects.. why not.. I don't eat meat.. But i will eat bugs..
yeah.. you do sound like a snob . Anyway they're either roasted or fried and toppled off with salt ..similar to the roasted nuts they sell on almost every corner in NYC.
I have tasted "chapulines" in Mexico with lemon over . It was salty , not horrendous but far away to being my favorite choice
Oye @pepinointer por fin te quitaron la tarjeta amarilla .. tambien me di cuenta que cambiastes tu avatar.. Que pena lo de Bolillo No sabia que era tan agresivo contra las mujeres

Are Cachapas and Arepas de chocolo the same thing? The super market near my place started selling Arepas de chocolo and they look and taste pretty similar. Not many Colombian breakfast places near me but there is a great Venezulean place that has ton of Arepas and stuff like that. Tho I don't like there Arepasthey don't taste like anything and just stuff it with random stuff
I believe their the same thing, just from different countries and a slightly different recipe.. but their both Corn cakes.. also you live in Boston, right? That's great they have a Venezuelan restaurant
I know of 3 real nice ones. A ton of Colombians in east Boston but it's a btch to get to. Good Colombian dinner places but haven't found any decent breakfast/bakeries in Boston always have to hit up queens when I am in NYC as my moms like bring me back $50 in Colombian cheese bread
LOL....that's too funny. That's a crazy amount of pandebono...A Colombian mom who can't make her own?
No like actual bread. It looks like Jewish hallah bread but the inside is filled with Colombian cheese. Pretty awesome but she makes me buy like 20 every time I am in NYC. When they come back from Colombia they always have a 50 pound suitcase of Colombian cheese. Then they come back shocked that customs gives them shit for it. It's like what does a huge cheese block coming from Colombia look like.
6 nights in the Azores for $500 https://www.travelzoo.com/vacations...49&utm_campaign=us_top20_2016_37_deal:2335449
I remember when I used to travel to Colombia, it would be long lines at the airport. 2-3 huge packed suitcases, per traveler, all with a ton of tape around it. It's like if every traveler got the same memo. That include the boxes with tall he fake christmas trees. Upon arrival, it seemed that I would meet a new batch of cousins with everyone ready for the suitcase opening and gift giving session. On the way back, yes, all empty except for bottled figs, bottled chontaduro, countless manjarblanco, aguardiente and whatever artifact that one could only find in their hometown....
