For a second there, I thought you were talking about a different player because the way this reads, you would think Clint Dempsey was anything but an above average player at his peak, a peak that last 1.5 seasons in the Premier League. It's almost as if you didn't actually watch the Premier League for the six years Dempsey spent there. I really don't know care to compare Dempsey and Peralta although it certainly is an interesting comparison since they do have similar playing styles but Jesus Corona, at 23 years old, is technically far and above Dempsey at any point in his career. Corona's 1v1 ability is also beyond what Dempsey can offer and frankly, I am very confident that Jesus Corona is going to leave a bigger impact in Europe compared to Dempsey. He's already played in the Champions League for starters, something Dempsey never could accomplish. What a strange thought, Dempsey was so good that a middling Liverpool refused to throw an extra couple hundred thousand pounds to Fulham for his services so he instead went to Tottenham where his contribution was a mixed bag, at best, scoring 7 goals that season......which was the norm for Dempsey aside from his peak season(s). But go ahead and put him on some delusional pedestal. It's usually what happens when there is a drought of meaningful trophies and/or relevant players.
