Fcu attempted to buy out Magic. DA said no to the sale of DA franchise. So FCU Magic by name but Fcu is running it.

    Magic in name only.

But Magic DA teams are intact for the upcoming 2016-17 season? Schedules on USSDA site include their teams.

Hearing similar rumors, but apparently no impact on their DA participation for the upcoming season. Is this your impression as well?

    Thanks.

DA will not allow Magic to transfer license to FCU (last I heard FCU tried to buy the license and club).

FCU in turn has taken over management of the Magic DA which will remain as Magic for - I don't know... Unitil FCU apply to the DA and get in perhaps? I honestly do not know.

Magic is just not the force they once were. Owner did the club in for the benefit of their kids.

    Parents and Players,

The FC United and Chicago Magic Soccer Clubs are pleased to announce the merger of the two organizations. This unification will open opportunities for players through enhanced indoor and outdoor facilities, further depth in our coaching staff and off-the-field programs with a focus on sports performance and injury reduction.

Existing team structures, planned coaching assignments, and training locations/schedules will remain in place. There will also not be any changes in FC United or Chicago Magic uniforms, warm ups, bags, etc. Current Billing and existing communication lines will also remain unchanged, with enhanced overall club communication implemented as the year progresses.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask your current FC United or Chicago Magic coach or staff contact.

Also has anyone heard about the Chicago Fire Jrs letting go of all their DA coaches?

All but PB. Everyone else were let go and settling at Magic under agreement with FC United, who've taken rights at Magic since ownership bailed.

Someones gotta benefit from it all, right? *winks at DR*

How does DR benefit from any of this? FCU has some good girls teams and a large pool. They've also brought on new coaches with deep experience. It seems this will push Sockers into more competition - at least on the girls end of it.

The boys will be a mess though - DA won't swap status so Magic lives and FCU runs it.

TK left Fire too, but apparently he settled at Sockers. Saw him last night with AG and a younger coach I don't know training at Olympic Park. Looked like U13 or U14 boys group. Solid staff...even the young guy was good.

@VolklP19 what I was trying to say is all the instability at 2 of the 3 full DA programs has to help Sockers (being the most stable). Hard to say if FCU is really making strides...buying a club that is a shadow of its former self thanks to poor ownership, and staffing it with guys that were all fired for underperforming for years at Fire. Time will tell.

As far as girls: FCU, CFJ, TC, Campton...they can all have large pools and decent teams, but without the ECNL or Girls DA competition platforms they will always lose the top players in the long-term. Sorry, but the MRL is not even close to elite and even USYS National League has a number of ECNL-clubs second teams...

All in all, typical Chicagoland soccer landscape. Always changing. Not always for the better, sadly.

Looks like BR is heading to Chicago Fire.

FCU - not providing the same resources to DA boys with regard to college.

Lots of players at Olympic lately.

Slow and steady wins the race in this case huh?
