I would be suprised if any player in this squad makes anything above Serie B level.

It should be back to the drawing board for the youth sector in Italy learning lessons from this game.

I thought after France went up by two goals the team lost their game plan and didn't really have a better plan. They taste defeat now and know it sucks. This could make them hungrier next year. Will Scamacca and Kean be eligible for the u20 WC?

When does qualifying start for that?

Haha, you're funny. This is a huge over exaggeration if I ever saw one.

I think it's the final four of this tournament + Germany who beat out Holland in the playoff.

Well, they are kind of young, but I don't see why not. They're Italy's most talented U-20 forwards right now.

Was it the lack of talent? Or did the manager just set up the team to win 1-0, and hope the other guys don't score first.

From the games I saw there was not a lot of talent on show, but the coach molded them into a good team.

Nevertheless, once has to remember this is a development competition, not one where the primary objective is to win.

so with Pelle moving to China, is his NT career over?

Yeah, most likely. If that weren't bad enough, under Ventura he likely wouldn't have had a future. Ventura is actually going to use Italian youth and is going to build a system around the talented young players he has. Pelle is neither young (in relation to other younger players) nor talented.

I think Gabbiadini will replace him. There has been many rumors about Ventura using Gabbs, and since Higuain is now at Juve, Gabbiadini will be Napoli's starting striker and should get a lot more playing time this season.

I also would like to see Belotti as well. I hope Gabbs and Belotti fight for a starting place. Whoever works better tactically.

No Romagnoli, Rugani, Masina, Benassi maybe means they are getting senior call ups

That's what I was thinking. It would be a significant - and overdue - move considering the next NT games next month are at home to France in a friendly and a trip to Israel for the opening WC preliminary.

Get used to it. Napoli's golden year is over. Time for Milan's rise back to the top

That was a beautiful goal. DiBiaggio needs to start using the wings more and put in a different or better midfielder. .

    Ended 1-1

    That'll do.

The last two Italy games are vs Lithuania and Andorra. They should top the group.
