Had no idea it had been that long. Sigh. Well I hope y'all tune in if you can't go. There will be a number of good MLS prospects on the field. At the top of the list for the Bucks would have to be Adam Grinwis & Dzenan Catic.
I know for a fact Ocala did have a bid in and was the frontrunner, but pulled their bid because the home staidum as had construction all season. The P.A. was torn down just before the season started and rebuilt (the original was complete garbage and the new one will be quite nice). Regardless, they pulled their bid because limping thru a regular season with P.A. and video under tents field side was doable, but not the picture you want to present for National Championships. that being said I'm sure the Ocala boys will be thrilled to get into a climate controlled, artificial turf stadium. The amount of rain and lightning delays we had this season we compeletely nuts (5 of 7 homes games directly impacted), so I'm sure Michigan will suit just perfectly with them.

e-mail from the Bucks: For Immediate Release Contact: Dan Duggan (216) 533-0757 dduggan@buckssoccer.com Bucks/DCFC Ticket Information Coming Friday Guaranteed tickets can be purchased now with Season Pass Pontiac, MI (April 15, 2015) - The Michigan Bucks are finalizing ticket information for the much anticipated first round match in the 2015 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament to be played on Wednesday, May 13th. US Soccer announced last week that the Bucks (PDL) will host Detroit City FC (NPSL) in what is perhaps the most talked about first round Open Cup match in the 102 year history of the tournament. Social media has been buzzing since the announcement, with everyone anxiously awaiting details about when tickets will go on sale. The match will be held at the Bucks home stadium at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, host to several huge soccer games in the state of Michigan, including the Bucks 2012 US Open Cup upset of the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer and last August's PDL Final Four which saw the Bucks bring home their second PDL North American Championship. Ultimate Soccer Arenas has a limited seating capacity of only 2,000 for this match. Complete ticket information will be released by the Bucks front office this Friday afternoon. The Bucks will offer long time fans and season ticket holders the first opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. Tickets to the Detroit City FC match are included in the 2015 Michigan Bucks season ticket holder packages, so anyone securing a season ticket or pass will not have to worry about the ticket process. The Bucks still have a limited number of individual season tickets still available, as well as a handful of Bucks Family Passes. Individual season tickets allow Bucks fans into all seven PDL regular season home games, as well as the Detroit City match. The ticket has a $60 value and is available on line for only $25. Tickets for the Detroit City match will be priced between $10-$15, so the season ticket is a great value for everyone. The best value available is the Bucks Family Pass, which allows everyone in your family (immediate family only, please) access to all seven Bucks regular season home games and the Detroit City FC game as well. Bucks Family Passes have a minimum value of $225 (depending on the size of your family) and can be purchased for only $50. With a limited number of Family Passes left, we don't expect them to last until Friday. As an added perk to our most loyal fans, Bucks season ticket holders and Family Pass holders will each have access to purchase an additional 8 tickets at the regular price (once announced) prior to the tickets going on sale to the general public. Bucks CEO Dan Duggan wanted to make sure all the long time Bucks supporters had the first opportunity to get their tickets to this historic match, which will most likely sell out within days of going public. "As we begin our 20th season with the Bucks, we want to make sure all those who have supported us for the past two decades are able to see this match live and in person," said Duggan. "Our season ticket holder packages always include first round US Open Cup tickets if we host, so our fans got a bonus this year. We know there is a great deal of interest in the local soccer community as well as from the passionate DCFC fans that have been waiting for the opportunity to see their team play the Bucks for the past three years. We will work with the DCFC owners to supply a significant number of tickets for their supporters once we know that our most loyal fans are looked after. This is going to be a great first round US Open Cup match; one that is already the talk of the country and will most certainly be the most followed match of the 21 first round games being played on May 13th." newest e-mail from the Bucks: For Immediate Release Contact: Dan Duggan (216) 533-0757 dduggan@buckssoccer.com Ticket Requests Now Being Accepted for Bucks / DCFC First phase of tickets to last one week only Pontiac, MI (April 17, 2015) - The Michigan Bucks have announced that ticket application requests for the popular 2015 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup first round match between the PDL champion Michigan Bucks and Detroit City FC (NPSL) are being accepted today through Thursday, April 23 at midnight. Any fan wanting tickets needs to fill out the Ticket Request Form on the Bucks web site and complete the form and submit it online. There will be no public ticket sales in phase one and anyone wanting to request tickets can do so immediately. All tickets for the highly anticipated match are $15 all ages (5 and under free) and general admission only. There is an 8 ticket limit per ticket request and once the request is received, the Bucks will contact the purchaser for further information. Unfortunately the Bucks cannot guarantee that all ticket requests will be filled so no money is being accepted along with the Ticket Request Form. The Bucks will begin contacting fans to finalize the ticket purchase over the weekend. After distributing tickets to season ticket holders and setting aside a large block of tickets for Detroit City fans, there will be less than 1,000 tickets to be sold through this first phase of ticket selling. Any tickets unsold as of Friday, April 24 will be distributed to local ticket outlets in the area for sale to the general public. If there are still tickets available at that phase, the Bucks will announce the ticket locations next weekend. While the two step process is more labor intensive, the Bucks felt the extra step was worth it to insure that their long time fans will be sure to have an opportunity to secure tickets before they get bought and sold on the secondary market. "We have heard all kinds of crazy plans of fans wanting to buy 50-100 tickets at a time to sell them at a profit on the secondary market," said Bucks Director of Operations, Sherwin Connell. "That is not the way we want to see this go down. If our fans have a chance to purchase tickets and they choose not to, then we are happy to sell them to who ever wants them. But we can't afford to have somebody roll into town, buy up the tickets and scalp them just because of the high interest in the local community. It will be more work for us, but at least we feel we are doing the right thing by our fans." The Bucks are finalizing details of a block of tickets to be released to DCFC for distribution. Details on this phase of ticket sales will be determined over the weekend between the two ownership groups and released early next week. Fans of either team that want tickets are encouraged to fill out the Ticket Request Form and submit today. The form can be found at www.buckssoccer.com and clicking on the US OPEN CUP TICKETS link: http://www.buckssoccer.com/usopencup/index_E.html Any coach or team manager that is interested in buying a block of more than 8 tickets for his / her team to attend this huge match should call Sherwin Connell at 917-325-9345. We will do our best to accommodate everyone's ticket requests within the next seven days, prior to any public sale.

Bucks Playoff Bound For Record 19th Time in 21 Seasons http://www.buckssoccer.com/news_article/show/668226?referrer_id=2354780 Pontiac, MI (July 10, 2016)- The Michigan Bucks defeated the Derby City Rovers 1-0 on Saturday night at Ultimate Soccer Arenas courtesy of a late game winner by third year striker David Goldsmith (England/ Butler). Drew Shepherd (Ann Arbor/ Western Michigan) recorded his seventh win and fifth league shut out to put the Bucks (10-2-0, 30 points) back in first place in the Great Lakes division of the Premier Development League (PDL). The Bucks leap frogged K-W United (9-2-1, 28 points) in the standings, but the two teams have secured the two division playoff spots to return to represent the Great Lakes for the third consecutive season. The Bucks won the 2014 PDL North American championship, while K-W knocked the Bucks from last year’s playoffs enroute to winning the 2015 national title.
Bucks host the PDL semifinal (one game): http://www.uslpdl.com/news_article/show/673112 The SF's have been split into two sites. "The Ocean City Nor'easters will host Calgary Foothills FC at 5 p.m. ET from the Tennessee Avenue Soccer Complex, while the Michigan Bucks play Midland/Odessa Sockers FC at 7:30 p.m. ET from the Ultimate Soccer Arenas."
If they run the U.S. Soccer National Amateur Championship next year, then the Bucks have qualified for it by being the furthest-advancing American team (at least). http://www.usadultsoccer.com/event/show/311146230
if they win they would have 3 total championships which will qualify as the most in league history: Michigan Bucks (2) Central Coast Roadrunners (2) Chicago Sockers (2) Cape Cod Crusaders (2) this year also gives the Bucks a commanding lead for "most points in the regular season" doing it 5 times... although amount of games haven't always the same across the league and the divisions are closed.
Sorry about picking off these posts from two years ago, but after watching this summer things like E-League (electronic "sports"), Battlefrog or American Ninja Warrior (obstacle course "sports"), and The Basketball Tournament (yes, that is what it was called), you would think that you could squeeze a few amateur league soccer games on something like an ESPN-U.
My point was this: you have to pay to do it. If those other sports decide that being on TV is a great use of their marketing dollars or a sponsor pays the freight, wonderful. But USL burned through its three year budget for its game of the week in that one year. It's expensive as all hell because ESPNU is not going to pay you, nor pay for the production costs. The whole "this sport is on TV, why isn't my sport on TV?" thing is silly. Your sport isn't on TV because there's no money in it.
