Has one more year under contract. I think he will be gone this transfer window.

I heard MU rejected a 19 million euro offer from PSG for Antonio. I think that's bs. Antonio I highly doubt is even worth half of that now. I'm pretty sure if MU got anything within that range they would've said deuces! No one is going to offer that amount for him and with one year left in his contract they would've taken it if it were true.

Yup, I'd call bullshit to. From what I heard, Mourinho would allow Valencia to walk for free.

First friendly of the season. Man Utd vs Wigan. Valencia is starting the second half right now with the captain's armband!

Wasn't expecting that. Hopefully this means he'll stay. I'm curious to see what Mou can bring out of Toño

Was it surprising? Mou has always been a fan of Toño, when he was in Chelsea there were always whispers about him trying to acquire him

Surprising because every season there's rumors of him leaving and supposedly fans want to see a new player as a right back, but NOT surprising because he's stuck through EVERY coach and claimed the starting spot regardless of any new signings coming into MU every season with every coach after Ferguson. So is it REALLY surprising? Nah. I guess MU gave the impression that they wanted to reconstruct fully and Antonio not being so young anymore made people believe he was going to be out. But honestly, if we think about consistency there's no way ANY sane coach would let him go. Mourinho likes discipline on and off the field. Antonio does both and is very versatile and tactically disciplined to the utmost. He's all about taking care of himself off the field and going above and beyond when it comes to work ethic. Mourinho likes those type of players. Antonio is strict on himself- qualities Mou values. I see him staying in Manchester for sure now. Plus, if I look at Anotnio he STILL has what it takes to be in the PL for another few years.

What do you guys think....greatest Ecuadorian futbolero of all time? I mean when you look at the success of his lengthy career and playing at such a demanding club in Europe, it's so impressive. Keeping in mind that, usually attacking MFs/FW and strikers tend to get all the glory but 'pound for pound' who comes close for Ecuador?

Rarely come on here to rave about our team or players (usually quite the opposite). But holy crap, Valencia is the embodiment of what hard work a perserverance is all about. For many years a large portion of the machester united fan base have criticized him and demanded a replacement to be brought in. But he never quit giving 100 percent.

And now he'll go down as the first Ecuadorian with a european title that not only played and won the game, but also captained the team!

Going to miss this guy when he retires. One of the few futbol winners/hard workers ive witnessed from our country. Not to take anything away from all the people who paved the way for our players.
