Maurizio Ganz was another who always found ways to score important goals. Simone Inzaghi another who scored some big goals for Lazio.
My coaching hero is Carlo Mazzone! I don't know how you can't love this guy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ2oL9WYEFY
Although Italy always had great defenders like Facchetti, Bergomi, Baresi, Nesta , Scirea, Gentile, Collovati, Costacurta, Ferrara , Cannavaro not to mention Materazzi & Grosso who contributed greatly to the 2006 WC win, I think my favorite defenders post 1980 were Paolo Maldini and Pietro Vierchowod....
Always thought Nicola Legrottaglie deserved more NT action, very solid defender but never had a chance against the likes of Nesta, Cannavaro and Maldini.

I personally knew Fabio Petruzzi of Roma, Brescia and Bologna and he was a good defender. Fabio Capello would not use him at Roma but he formed a great partnership Aldair. Milan wanted him after Baresi retired and having Costacurta, Maldini and later Nesta would have definitely lifted his career to greater heights. Don Fabio preferred Zago instead so he kind of hurt his chances of advancing but once again, Mazzone saved him by signing him at Brescia. He and Gigi DiBiaggio are still good friends with Totti.
Giuseppe Giannini and Gianluigi Lentini. Both excellent technical and creative midfielders. Lentini never really recovered after his car accident in 93 to realize the potential he had as the world's most expensive player of that generation.
Speaking of unsung heroes, on this day in 1982, Italy won their 3rd World Cup! 11 luglio 1982, l'Italia batte la Germania Ovest e vince il Mundial ..
Was he the one who play in PSG back to 90s? I watched some highlights of French league because of him
Since you mentioned focusing on the 90's then you much pay tribute to the best football show and theme tune of all time.
