There's a lot of regrets. Mine started with Deschamps' abysmal team selection. The fact that we had Gignac coming on when we had Benzema or Lacazette at home makes me want to vomit.
Portugal Iceland 1-1 Portugal Austria 0-0 Portugal Hungary 3-3 Portugal Croatia 1-0 et Portugal Poland 1-1 (5v3 pk) Portugal Wales 2-0 Portugal France 1-0 (Ronaldo-less) Ugly ugly wins. But this is a Story of never giving up. /salute. Winning despite your best player going out early... Amazing
I think Michael Ballack brought up a good point. Portugal deserves this Cup because they were the only team that did not lose.
In all seriousness, great tournament from a tactical perspective. Painful to watch but entertaining with the minnows stepping up and proving they belong. Congrats to Iceland and Wales! As for France, if they can build on this, the 2018 World Cup might just be theirs.
Not sure why you quoted me, but I'm happy for CR7 and Portugal. I was responding to the fact that Portugal scored in the waning minutes of the match to steal the trophy from France.
Great tournament: showed how soccer has evolved and is truly a world sport where small and large nations can compete. Let's do 48 team World Cup lol
I would like to REP these posts, but being new doesn't give me that option yet. Oh well! Gotta be patient with oddball policies for a few more days, it seems.
