I hope that the defensive minded change that Loew brings when facing the top teams is to drop Goetze and play a 3 man midfield of Kroos, Khedira and Schweini. Kimmich can defend just as well as Hoewedes. He played in central defense for months for Bayern this season and looked mostly solid. I don't think he will be much of a liability at RB, and his technique, passing skills, calmness under pressure and vision would help a lot when passing out of pressure from the likes of Italy/Spain.

Yes very true, we would definetly lose that little sting in attack but gain so much more stability in mid and defense.

It's not blistering attack or anything but maybe we win games 1-0, 2-1 instead of what's projected with other attacking lineup? (Even though we've struggled first 2 games)

The matches against Spain/Italy/France will be more open so I don't think we will need a blistering attack to get goal chances.

I would also not be surprised to see Loew opt for a front line with Mueller Oezil and Goetz in the later phases too.
