this kinda sucks, i wonder if conte is gonna rest the sqaud or keep them playing so they dont come out cold vs spain.

Now that the traitor Alvaro is going back to RM, I hope that Juve backline pushes his sh*t in.

That Juve defense is going to be playing for keeps now that he turned his back on us.

I really want to see Giorgio lay into his bitch ass, this kid had the option to say no I want to stay and publicly said he wanted to stay, then he acts like an indecisive little girl and lets RM pry him away for a big cashout.

If I had to choose one I'd say Croatia in the final. Lets try to win it all.

Spain are a really good team, but this is not 2010 Spain. We are not in the prime days of Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, and Alonso. They can't move the ball around nearly as fast, so our pressing in the midfield is gonna trouble them. Chiellini/Bonucci/Barzagli is really solid in the back. Also its proven 3-5-2 is the way to beat tiki taka loads of times. We need our players to have the games of their lives in this game.

Germany are also a great team, but again they are not the world cup winning side. Lahm, Klose, and Mertasacker are gone, and while that might not sound like a big blow on the field, it is a very big blow off the field. Lahm and Klose had so much passion for the team, and them leaving lessens the other players' encouragement and confidence. However they aren't at their prime, and it seems we have a great record against Germany. I think maybe we should not use the BBC in this game and use 4-4-2 formation? What do you guys think?

I think it would be a good idea to have those extra right and left midfielders helping the attack, just due to the playstyle Germany have.

Then France, I honestly think are easier than Spain and Germany but still a good team. Has France impressed you at all so far? For me not even in a game. They have good players, but they are not a team. We would kill them if we played them (I don't mean thrash, but I mean outclass them at times).

Then Croatia is our hardest opponent. They play pretty much the same way as us. If we make the final, I think we should do what I said we should do against Germany. Croatia don't hold possession or try to throw all at attack, so its ok to use a back 4. I think we need Bernardeschi and Candreva on the midfield sides to add more to the attack.

It's what looked like was going to happen after the first lot of games anyway. I thought Croatia would beat Spain and top the group and we would also top it. That changed when modric. Was out and they blew that two goal lead vs the cZechs I must admit. Who cares. If we play like we did vs Belgium we will beat everyone. If were good enough, We will win.

Also what the ******** is up with Spain getting decisions for them 2 successive euros in a row vs Croatia? Bullshit penalty, Croatia should of had one like they should have last time. I'm glad Croatia won. They deserved it. ******** off Spain.

All 4 potential teams have the ability to go into full-attack mode/control the play. We don't... so we'll suffer as expected. Those 4 also have great attacking midfielders while we have Giac... and that's the big difference.

Doubt we'll mess around with the 3 at the back. Too late to experiment.

That would be new for me.. Of course you're going to miss the semi if you receive your 2nd yellow in the quarter. The rule is to not miss the eventual final due to cards. All yellow (single) cards will be deleted. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense and would allow a lot of players to cause a "free" yellow card.

the rule says after the completion of the quarters which is why I would think they implemented the rule so players wouldn't miss both the semi or finals. I mean what good is stating all yellows are cleared after the quarters if you miss the next match due to the 2nd yellow being in the actual quarters? That'a a contradiction is it not?

in the past regardless of where you are in the tournament if you receive a 2nd yellow you miss the next match. this is precisely why they are cleared after completion of the quarters.

I've also read the player won't miss the semi's should they get booked again in the quarters with a second yellow here in the article below....excerpt below that

It says that the yellow cards expire after the quarter final. If you earn your 2nd yellow during the quarter final, you're gonna miss the semi-final. If you are able to play the semi-final, you just don't carry any yellows with you. It's this way at Euros/WC since the rule was implemented after the WC 2002.

does it specify anything about second yellows received in the actual quarterfinal?

all I see it saying is yellows expire after quarters....nothing about second yellows in the quarters

It's pretty easy actually. If your actions during the quarter final will lead to a suspension, you will miss the next match. Otherwise every of the 22 players could earn a "free" yellow in this very special match. That doesn't make any sense. It's the way I wrote earlier, believe me. It's the same in CL, Europa League etc. that are also UEFA competitions.

ehh...I dunno about that...so far I've read 2nd yellows received in the quarters won't carry over but I haven't read anything to the contrary.

Einzelne = Single

Single cautions from matches during the final stage of the tournament expire after Quarterfinals. They are not carried into the semifinals.

As I said, it's this way since the rule was implemented and is also true for every other UEFA + FIFA tourney. And this discussions repeats also every tourney or CL season.

anyway I guess you are right.....but it doesn't make sense....a players receives a yellow in the first group match then 4 matches later ( the 5th total ) they receive their 2nd in the quarters and miss the following semis.....holding a player to only 2 yellows over the span of 5 matches seems excessive imo

I wouldn't know much about the rule as my team hasn't gotten that far in quite a while

Italy is through so against Ireland is a good time to experiment. I would rest Candreva as Italy shouldn't risk him getting injured. Been a key player in the win against Belgium and looked very competent against Sweden.

Insigne should get some playing time. I really rate him. I would keep the strikers the same to see who should start against Spain. Italy's strikers have been good but I feel like on paper they're missing some firepower. Also should be resting Bonucci, have Ogbonna in his place for the match. I used to not like Bonucci but I've really grown to rate him. Easily in the top 3 defenders in the world. Lastly, see how Florenzi does. This match is dead rubber for Italy because they already have their opponent, but its not dead rubber for Ireland who want to qualify.
