There is no humiliation. Argentina is one of the very best teams in the world, and any other team risks losing harshly to them. And football is a tough game: think about the incredible beating that Brazil took when playing the last World Cup at home. It happens.

As a European living in the US, I did see the American team grow significantly in the last couple of decades. But it's a slow process and there is no guarantee the growth won't at some point hit a wall. After all there are many major national teams with tremendous tradition that in fact never could win a major tournament.

And how is that philosophy working out for Concacaf soccer wise?

Because everyone keeps hoping that he'll regain is form from a few years ago. But it ain't happening. Another year without improvement and then maybe you think about giving up on him. Unless someone surprisingly comes in and steals his place.

Argentina needs to go play in Europe. There is no competition for them in this putrid wasteland. Brazil is in shambles, Uruguay hasn't been relevant, and Mexico...well, lol.

People tend to forget that the USA program really starts in the 90s

Fully deserved win for Argentina. It was an extremely predictable result as the USA were missing key players and for the most part, never come up against another team of this level, so I'm not surprised at all that they looked nervous on the pitch.

I was spot on about the MLS players being a disadvantage for the NT. These players need to play at a higher level football if they ever want to do anything decent. We brought a lot of Peruvian league players but the point was to bring the in form players to try and get them to go to a higher level of football.

As for the people saying USA is better than Ecuador based on one match, they really aren't. All I'm gonna leave there for now.

They are making money that's what is working out. They have good ratings that's what is working out. because that's what they care about.

Who cares if the Concacaf teams lose everyone knew that they were going to lose except for Mexico fans

So Concacaf fans dont care about winning as long as the organizers, sponsors make money. Good to know.

I don't want the assistant coach having a heart attack now. If heat affects them, imagine altitude

What else do you expect fans to do? We can only cheer for the team what ever is out there. If the talent isn't there the talent isn't there.

No, he said the two best teams in Conmebol are better than the best two teams in Concacaf. This is true. The rest of conmebol is no better, and in fact worst than the US and Mexico. They have a record of 1 wins, 3 losses and one draw against those two Concacaf teams (US and Mexico). The rest of conmebol is no better against those teams, having recorded 6 straight losses against those two teams.

In other words, conmebol as two or three good teams and seven or eight that aren't really up to the level of the US or Mexico (or probably CR for that matter who won one and drew one v Conmebol)

It is a big deal, because people are always saying that "CONCACAF can stand up to CONMEBOL" well, if that was true the USA and Mexico wouldn't get smashed at home to the best CONMEBOL sides.

Peru hasn't lost to Argentina in Lima in the last 2 matches, just to give you an example.
