Fantastic atmosphere, it really felt like being in South America. Both set of fans chanting incessantly for their teams inside the stadium, this game and tournament is serious.

Overall, a rather disappointing match. Colombia controlled the match for a longer period, but Peru showed focus, which has been a criticism, and managed the game well. Colombia will need to play much better to advance past either Chile or Mexico.

Colombia started to loose when they decided to change the last line up that was winner in the last 5 matches

James is setup to score a special goal. He almost had it yesterday but it hit th post. I hope I see the special goal here in Chicago. :D

Anyway, kudos to Gareca for his tactics and the Peru players for executing the game plan well.
It was a hard fought match but the better team advanced in the end.

@condor11 - as a mod, you shouldn't be applauding xenophobic or racist comments.

Unacceptable stuff. I have also seen the Peruvians call Ecuadorean "monkeys" any time they are going to play each other, and it's completely normal in their forum. Wouldn't surprise me if @condor11 also repped those.

I don't get why so many Peruvians are so disappointed. Colombia are a better team than us in every way and we gave them what might be the hardest game for them in the tournament. No shame in losing to Colombia really.

And technically Peru did not lose. But I guess once your team is on a pk shootout, it's so close to advancing.

But is so frustraded how that Guys of The forum are so racists, @passat1976 and @mendozavr lived 40 years ago when peru when peru assisted to world cups , other countries are not guilty that peru have underperformed since 1982 , and other have progressed and get achievements

Stop being mr. sensitive innocent bystander as if you don't talk caca about Peruvians sometimes lol. And yea that's probably right 60-40 maybe 55-45. But yes we tied , you guys have better players but I can't agree Colombia was the better team. At that point it's just luck.

Congrats to Colombia, but lets face it, it was a very disappointing and boring game.

Peru definitely punched above their weight in this tournament. Gareca is doing great things with this team and kudos for taking a chance and bringing a young squad; the experience will payoff in the long run.

As for Colombia (my favorite S.America team after my homeland) when are we going to see what we've been promised? A lot has been said and expected of this crop of talent and head coach, but going back to last year's CA, this team is underperforming.

Colombia had to transition and transform a bit from the last cycle. Many veterans and leaders are not on this team anymore. No Yepes, No Falcao, No Teo, No Zuniga, No Armero, No Aguilar, etc. IT is not easy to replace those players presence & leadership and emulate the cohesion they had when Pekerman first signed on.
That said, Colombia is in the Final four of this tournament and in position to go further if they can play better.

Yesterday match was horrible , pekerman making the same mistakes that he Did a year ago, so dont expect other results if you make yeah The same mistakes ..

First two games at least in first half , where great The team knew to attack

But now pekerman prefered to attack with two defensive midfielders that doesnt know how to do with The ball , and james Cardona should go to The defense to créate options .....yeah The same happened a year ago ...he decide to quit The line up that get 5 winning matches in a row, to have security

Perú deserved to go through, Colombia played terrible

Dont make me wrong pekerman is the best coach of Colombia in years

Colombia wasn't better that Peru , and Peru wasn't better ...but I think that Peru was the one that get the objective in arriving to pks

And a lot of Peruvian posters are racists and xenophobics, situation that doesn't happen in the other forum...isn't being sensitive, that is a lab of racisms sponsored by @condor11 qnd the other mods

Other countries aren't guilty that you disappeared from world football map since 1982 ..

    I hope you improve actually,

A Colombian went to congrats the team in that poster , and a racist called @mendozavr kicked him out of the forum

I feel like we should act like gentleman and stop the insulting and tattletaling. No one is the victim here. Both sides have faults. What you say about one mod you can most definitely say about the other , agreed?

True, but I find it funny when countries talk about qualifying to a WC and they get there and ehhh. I guess thats the POV I have from watching Peru rebuild for so long. I know one thing when Peru makes it to a WC, they aren't going for participation trophies. Of course I might be dead by then [emoji3]
