One thing most are ignoring is the fact that we'll probably see a more defensive playing style with Tite. People are just concentrating on his results at Corinthians.

But good luck to him. Seems like a no BS coach. It's who everybody wanted if anything for a lack of any other alternative.

I honestly would like to see Neymar roam around less playing more on the wing and maybe put Willian in the middle. But I doubt that will happen.

CBF responds to nobody. That's the problem. They respect nothing.

And they respect nothing and nobody. In a case like this I agree 100% with Roberto de Andrade; this could've easily been Flamengo, Palmeiras, São Paulo... it just happened that Tite managed Corinthians.

That Andrade only wished Tite well shows he knows Tite wasn't at fault for anything. CBF's leaders are squarely to blame for their arrogance. Just like when Ricardo Teixeira ignored Muricy Ramalho's handshake after they tried to sign him and Fluminense refused to release him.

It's unbelievable. 1-7 on home ground with billions watching and they don't change.

PS: you can change your sig now... ;)

I wouldve preferred cuca. Nonetheless tite will fix this team. Brazil will qualify for 2018 now at least.

I actually would have preferred Cuca as well but his tendency to get nervous is a huge turnoff. Tite is a proven pragmatic manager. He may have toured around Europe seeing different managers but I'm not expecting anything radical against Colombia( our first qualifier under him).

Btw, I'll be at that game. 2nd time watching a manager debut. Mano was my 1st in New Jersey lol.

The issue isn't even respect though, it's professionalism. "We don't answer to anybody" is a mafia attitude (but that is what these organizations are so...)

So basically Tite did not confirm yesterday because at least he is decent and professional enough to tell his employer before making a decision public.

Such a simple thing CBF can't get right. As ever if we win it will be in spite of them.

I think 2018 will be the first time in a long time that Brazil will not be considered a favorite (if they make it).

It's bringing me back memories of June 2001, after Leao got fired and everyone wanted Scolari! ! Just wishing and praying the ending result is the same!!

While the following scenario would be counterproductive re: Brazil's WCQ performances, if it led to serious and long-term positive changes in CBF, I'd support Tite actually resigning if CBF cartolas interfered in his work.

Tite is a student of the game and he knows quite well that our ostensible talent "drought" notwithstanding, Brazil has many highly talented players for all or almost all positions. He will (I hope) bring the absolutely best players (not just talent but also current performance and form) as he endeavors to build a squad that is performs like a cohesive team. That, after all, is one of the reasons Corinthians won the 2012 Libertadores and Club World Cup.

CBF cartolas better let him do his job without getting in the way. If they make his work harder or if they demand this or that player be chosen, a Tite resignation followed by a public declaration would all but turn the entire country against the den of vipers known as CBF. And that would not a bad thing.

Since 2002? Since 1994? (We didn't consider ourselves favorites in 94 but maybe others did).

I'm ok with not being favorites.

I don't think 1994 and 2002 were considered surprise championships. But if 2018 would be if Brazil won.

1994 is debatable, but 2002 definitely was a surprise. Even with Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho. Ronaldo was coming off surgeries and injuries, Brazil reached the World Cup only on the last game of qualification, and other squads had far better qualifying performances than we did. I remember talking to Europeans and they all said they didn't think Brazil was a contender that year.

It's too early to tell with 2018. If Tite's team takes shape in or even ahead of schedule and the desired results materialize, who's to say that we won't reach Russia as a very strong and prepared squad? We may not be the favorite, but we could be one of the favorites.

Tite will fix the team. He'll get brazil to at least the QF in 2018. But I think his ultimate failure will be due to the fact that he copies and is inspired by European coaches.

After 2018 I'd go with Fernando diniz, eduardo baptista, Roger machado or even Micale or roberto carlos would be interesting.

I've done this joke once before and I'm gonna do it again: Roberto Carlos will be disastrous as I'm sure he'll tell everyone to not bother to defend anyone who is "taller" than themselves.
