I'm not sure it changes much. The US was already going to start falling deeper into a defensive shell as the game continued. Now it just means fewer US counterattacks, but it'll just as hard for Paraguay to score.

Why didn't Paraguay bring a center forward? In a time like this when the opponent has 9 players in the box, you need some targets. Roque Santa Cruz, Lucas Barrios, Raul Bobadilla and Oscar Cardozo ... At least one or two of those should have been brought in.
