Ha, as if no England fan was NOT expecting that. Said to my girlfriend "Watch Russia score". Always the same at every major tournament.

You could see it coming, no sustained energy after 25 minutes.

What's this crap? French hooligans have started the mess twice against English fans, and English fans retaliated. Don't talk nonsense.

Better to be lucky than good sometimes. England should have really been up 2-0 before conceding that.

I think at this stage it is the inexperience. In 2, 4, 6 years this England are not going to conceed these goals anymore

Don't agree that you could see that coming, easier to say that after the fact, Russia offered little in attack the whole match. Looked like a 1-0 all the way through, but there is always a chance someone will get a late equalizer from punting it forward, if you don't kill it off. We were clearly the better side, just didn't take one of the other chances to get 2 up and get what would have been a deserved win.

Obvious poor positioning from the Russian keeper.

More interesting talking point: If that free kick had happened in 1990 or 1995, it would have been given as obstruction and an indirect free kick, which, according to the laws of the game - the letter of the law, would probably still be the right decision even now. I don't think there has been a official rule change but enough refs ignored the rule that wrong became right. So I was not surprised at all to see it wasn't given as indirect.

By the way, Rose had an almost perfect match before the goal. A shame about that one poor moment, punished, and that's all people are going to remember.

    Fair enough, apologies.

Thought it was a bit weird you'd think English fans would riot with a win.

Looks like Russian rioting happening inside the stadium too. The stuff outside the stadium they can ignore somewhat because it's not clear if it's ticket holders, but it'll be interesting to see what UEFA does with violence inside stadium.

In tournaments whether the Euro or WC, when a team qualifies undefeated, sometimes hype have surrounded that team

I don't understand why people can't just chill. I'm all for a passionate and proud fan base but the violence is just ridiculous. Alcohol isn't the villain. It's the morons that get involved in this behaviour.

    It's a ********ing game.
