Hi all, this is a request from a poster that is admittedly critical at times of over-regulation of soccer threads by moderators, specifically in the USA/MLS department, but this is a request for stricter enforcement of subject matter restrictions in this election year. Countless threads are constantly getting derailed by political back and forth. Whether its about Trump, Hillary, Sanders, racism, identity politics, gun rights, over-regulation, or whatever, it seems to be a constant distraction. Can moderators make greater efforts to clamp down on this off-topic chatter? The rest of the internet has got it covered.
Mods are not omniscient nor omnipresent. We cannot and do not read every post in every thread. If you come across something that needs handling please report it. If people make it a habit we can and will ban them as needed.
I am guilty of this.. Sorry.. but luckily another Mod @sidspaceman already deleted my Political posts, so you guys don't have to go through the trouble, of looking thru my posts. From now on I will only posts about politics in PM, or threads that actually have to do with Politics.. thanks and take care guys.
No need to be defensive. I raised the issue because I consider it important, and I don't think I suggested that mods are either omniscient or omnipresent. But mods seem to post in nearly every major USMNT/Yanks Abroad thread, so I generally disagree that these posts are going unread by moderators. But of course I will report any posts that are disrupting the soccer conversation.
