I disagree that Mexico played really really good as they were up a man in the second half and pretty much dominated by Uruguay... it was kind of funny how the match went... Mexico were the better team in the first half. Then once they were a man up, it seemed the tide turned and Uruguay were ironically the better team. But at the end of the day, Mexico rallied when they needed to most.

You cant expect to dominate Uruguay the 90 mins... even with Uruguay having 10 guys... That just dont happen. Yeah Mexico wasted a ton of chances but that says a lot of their ability to create chances, is just a matter of putting them in the net, the more chances the better, despite missing them

Besides I didnt say Mexico was perfect, you need to understand that is Uruguay who Mexico played...

After watching all the games from Round 1. Needless to say, in my point of view the Uruguay vs Mexico game was the best match of all. Congrats to both team, they both played well.
On a side note, I really enjoyed watching Tecatito play; the guy is unpredictable and makes world class defenders look clumsy.

There was no handball. Uruguayans are a bunch of sore losers. They swear they are on the same level as Germans or even Argentina.

Uruguay has a very solid team and they're players have a ton of fight in them. But they were more worried about the ref than about defending in the second goal.

Our team is at full strength and we're playing at home. Mexico is taking this tournament.

Well it was a Uruguay down a man, without their best player, and playing in front of a very, hmm, how do I say this - pro-Mexican crowd. But agree, regardless of the circumstances, beating Uruguay in any type of tournament is no mean feat, and sure Mexico played really well. Just not so sure I'd say really, really well (the double really).... well first half maybe, but I was surprised at how well Uruguay got back in the game in the 2nd half.

Uruguay has played the majority of the qualifiers without Suarez and they are still in sitting in first place in Conmebol. And every Mexico game will feature a pro-Mexican crowd. We are the host team baby.

Not one Uruguay play is holding their arms up as if they just saw a handball

Should we see what a handball really looks like?

Technically that's true but based on an extremely low sample size of games. If you look at the last 4 major tournaments, Uruguay are significantly better with Suarez in the lineup.

Chile over Mexico in the quarterfinal, imo. :p

See why these guys will never be a "big" team? They won a game and they think they already won the whole thing. And it's not just this little dope over here, you see it all over the Mexican media.
    I guess they'll never learn.
Sweety pie, got news for you, this tournament has not even started yet.

    Speaking of Trump...
Mods, maybe someone should build a "firewall" to keep "these" posters out of this thread...

You're a 3rd world Uruguayan. Don't flatter yourself and think you're part of the WASPY country club that Trump wants to create.

It's funny how people from other Latin American countries bring up this "Trump" thing, as if they were excluded from this clown (Trump) pathetic politics; they don't understand that in Trump's and many other American politician's terms the word Latinos, Hispanics, or Mexicans means the same thing, and Mexico means anything and everything south the Rio Grande.

Fortunately, we need no one else but us, and we are taking back what belong to us! :p:D

Not at all. I'm not the only saying we have a strong possibility of winning this tournament. In fact, a good number of US writers have said the same buddy. The tournament has started. We have three points against the best team in our group. We still have two games left. Based on how we've been playing so far under Osorio, we should pull out all 9 points.
