I guess this is something like being on an English "schoolboy" contract -- not yet a pro, but it's a weed-out-step that would certainly lead to a pro contract if he makes the next grade.
I could be wrong, but I feel like he signed a contract of some sort in the last year or so? I could've swore I saw him and his father posing with the PSG kit like they just signed one awhile ago.
That could be it.. I just remember seeing the photo after like he just got done signing a deal so I'm not sure when it was haha
That picture's on the first page of this thread from last Sept. saying he signed a 4 year deal. He's turned 16 since then so maybe that has something to do with it.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Tim Weah received a 35.000 euro bonus upon signing his new contract, and will be paid between 1.000 and 1.500 euros per month. Also, he will be playing the French U17 championship semis this Saturday. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actu...euros-pour-timothy-weah/683129?dlvrit=1944463

Today the Otten Cup started, which is a U-19 tournament hosted by PSV in the Netherlands. PSG is participating and Weah is on the roster. They opened the tournament today with a 4-1 loss to Barcelona. I'm still trying to find team info so I have no idea whether Timothy played or not. EDIT: just found that Weah did not start but came on as a sub.
Timothy started for PSG today against Red Bull Brasil and found the net in a 1-0 win. The goal is described as a shot from 20 meters.
I see that PSG also played an earlier game today against Anderlecht that they lost 2-1. It appears that is the game Weah actually started in. I think he might have come on as a sub against Red Bull but it's not entirely clear from the tournament's live reports. Anyway, the semifinals tomorrow are Man Utd v Barcelona and PSV v Anderlecht.
