We play Finland next in a friendly. Belgium just tied them yesterday and would have lost if it wasn't for Lukaku's 89th min strike. Belgium is overrated

^what about when Belgium beat us 3-1 in a friendly, outclassing us in the 2nd half ? Nah, that shit doesn't count:D
Ireland lost to Belarus at home 1-2.

I haven't been following Sweden but there roster looks pretty mediocre besides Ibra. Not too many players at top clubs. They had to scrape by Denmark in a playoff just to make the competition. Then again, Ibra was the 2nd highest scorer in the Qualifiers with 11 goals. That is more that (Pelle + Eder) * 2.

Ireland was another 3rd place team that had to go through a playoff. They can hurt us if we don't have our shit together and take them seriously.

We forget that our defense looked shaky in many games during the qualifiers. Even our mighty BBC went limp and gave up 2 goals away against Bulgaria.

At the uero cup will be a different scenario, where the pressure is a big factor. Not sure if Belgium can handle it until the end.

So right now 46.8% believe we won't make it out of the group stage?

    Really?

Even if Belgium is better than us (which I have my doubts just how good they are), this team is better than Sweeden and better than Ireland. Also some 3rd place teams make it out.

I don't know how far this team goes but I'm sure they make it out of the group stage

four 3rd place teams out of the total six groups actually....4/6...2/3

that means 66.66 percent of the 3rd placed teams make the knockout

i think we can manage a 3rd place and I doubt it was mostly Italians voting that option ( group stage exit )

should never have opened up a poll here

The media needs to keep hyping up England and Belgiums chances of winning this thing, the less pressure on Italy, the further they'll go......

On our day we are the best in the group. Belgium has better attackers on paper, but not defense, and the midfield is comparable without Marchisio and Verratti.

    Buffon > Courtois
    Bonucci > Varmealan
    Chiellini > Alderweireld
    Barzagli > Vertonghen
De Rossi = Nainggolan (DDR is more aggressive and bigger)
    Florenzi > Witsel
    Candreva < De Bruyne
    Insigne > Mertens
Bernardeschi < Hazard (When Hazard is at his best, but if you talk about Hazard this season, Bernardeschi is better)
Pelle < Lukaku (Lukaku is a little bit better)

When we play Belgium, De Bruyne is really the only player that is the real threat. We must keep him marked at all times. For the rest just keep the defense streight and organized and it should be more than enough to shut down Hazard at his form now, Mertens, and Lukaku. DDR knows Nainggolan well and is arguably stronger and I am confident he can really mark Nainggolan and shut him down. Now with Belgium's defense injured they hardly have a defense. Alderweireld is the only one thats good really, and Insigne's pace as well as Bernardeschi's skill, and even Candreva and SES shouldn't have too many problems getting past them. We must hope Pelle is in his goalscoring mood.

Sorry to be intruding once again but I have to say... you're either high or delusional with these comparisons... Lukaku a little bit better than Pelle

Good luck in the Euro, truly wish you guys the best

I think you're underestimating Belgium a tad too much. We have three things going in our favour a) their top two defenders are injured b) they're a young team b) all the pressure is on them. Don't underestimate these guys though. We have no midfield and we don't know know if our strikers will click and score.

and italy U21s was far better than Sweden U21s but they still lost after being one goal up to 10 man sweden thanks to that guy Sturaro who is a big game performer unlike Jorghino. Lulz.

All of our opponents bar the ones coached by retards like conte, will know their strengths and play to them. What is our strength? That we will have players who can run around all day working Hard but cant cross or shoot or create for shit?

we do have a midfield DDR and Motta are not Marchisio and Verratti, but they are really good players and still play in europe from time to time and know how to do this. DDR is world class, or at least used to be. I am not underestimating Belgium, more likely I am probably overestimating us a bit.

The only way Italy has a chance at winning anything is by grinding out results. This is probably one of the least talented Azzurri squads that I can remember. Hopefully Contes emphasis on work rate will allow them to grind out victories. Maybe this team will resemble the Maple Leafs when they had Clark,Gilmour etc.

LOL who sits on the bench for Napoli, and who starts? That comparison is pretty obvious. Insigne is miles better. Mertens can be very sloppy & shocking sometimes.

Mertens cant hold a candle to Insigne, is no way near to Lorenzo.
