PITTSBURGH (May 21, 2016) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds owner Tuffy Shallenberger and head coach Mark Steffens have mutually agreed to part ways.

Steffens, in his second season with the Hounds, finishes with an overall record of 12-13-11 during his time in Pittsburgh. The Hounds went 11-9-8 in Steffens’ first season with the team, earning a United Soccer League playoff berth for the first time since 2013.

Eight games into the 2016 campaign, Pittsburgh holds a record of 1-4-3 in league play.

“We appreciate what Mark has done in his time with the club,” Shallenberger said. “You never like to see things of this nature happen, but we both agreed this was the best decision for the club’s future. We wish Mark the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

First Pitt gets Vidovich and now Hounds get Brandt. I don't there is a city in this country with two coaches with their pedigree and accomplishments. That's a whole lot of soccer knowledge and experience. I hope the City can appreciate what they have right now. Get out and support both teams. Great results could be on the horizon.
