Yeah, so I was home and watching and actually did post over @OO. But then I couldn't be bothered to keep looking back and forth. Roll on Monday.
well that was a ridiculously nervy first half. brighton are absolutely running rampant and we look completely unable to cope. the goal against the run of play was immense, though. 3-1 to the good guys, still though.
Owls to be promoted, we can dream! But, will put me in a quandary as I also support Spurs. All in all, I'll take the quandary! Up the Owls!
speaking personally, i hate those celebration scenes. what have we won? wait until you win promotion to celebrate. winning this series gets you nothing if you lose on the the 28th. be happy, congratulate each other, that's all fine... but celebrating like that is over-the-top for doing nothing more than just "advancing" to the final of a tournament.
i tend to agree with that - certainly regarding the players. fans celebrating, though, makes a bit more sense to me, as it means a big day at Wembley. Hull City hold on. big one all set for a week on Saturday.
the fans were certainly loving it, though - not just based on the video, but quite a few of 'em weighing in on Wednesday message boards. tough to be too critical when the players are just joining in with the fans. beats the hell outta two claps above the head in the supporters' general direction before heading off to the locker room, in my opinion. the locker room one does seem a bit over the top, though, doesn't it?
yeah, i'm fine with the on-the-field stuff with the fans. i was mainly talking about the locker room stuff.
here we go! i'm off to the pub. noon's an early start for me ... gonna be a rough sunday morning, I can feel it. UTO!
The final score was Hull City 1:0 Sheffield Wednesday. The only goal of the game was scored by Mohamed Diame in the 72nd minute.
I knew it would be close. This season vs HCAFC - 1:1, 0:0, and finally 1:0. we played well, then they played well, then we played well, then they played well... good game just a bad result. UP THE OWLS! We did more than we expected this season.
It was a good goal worthy winner just would have preferred to see a new team in the Premier League rather than the same few teams such as Hull who bounce up and down.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/hull-city-promoted-top-flight-8071750 you're not the only one @Myshoe ...
yup. OwlsAlive.com had a message board, which used to be great. never particularly huge, but folks knew each other and the banter was good. nice previews and fantastic match reports - known as 'rambles' - which were far more than mere match reports. they were largely accounts of a footballing day, reflecting how the author's (usually Steve, the site operator) entire Wednesday-centered activities, from breakfast, travel, and who's been met for pre-match pints, to who's met afterward and the post-mortem - oh, and the game would be in there, as well. over the last year or so, though, the ranks had thinned out quite a bit, and Steve took it down a couple weeks back. most of 'em are still around as a group on twitter or facebook or some such ... but I just can't. some have also gone to OwlsOnline's message board, which is decent enough - though not quite the same. I drop in there fairly regularly to try to keep a finger on the pulse of what's going on with Wednesdayites, but I don't post nearly as much - mainly because i'm not Wednesday (i'm Spurs, obviously enough). I'd met a bunch of the OA fellows whilst at Hillsborough and stayed on feeling somewhat amongst mates. I know a few at OO, too, but again, it's just not the same. Ivan posted at OA a lot, as well. ... which reminds me ... hey Ivan, have you heard anything from Steve about his upcoming trip to N'ville?
