The goal was a corker! Is Gall playing exclusively on artificial fields out there? Should prepare him well for MLS...

Assist was very nice, though you'd be forgiven for mistaking that for amateur defending.

Degree of difficulty on the goal is insane though, to strike a ball like that on the half volley with your momentum taking you away from goal is something else.

I mean that is absolutely terrible defending, but he still scored by way of a rocket

The defending on display this past month is viewed far worse when you've wrongly assumed he was playing in the Allsvenskan, completely disregarding the fact that this is YA Academy.

I didn't realize Nykopings played in the (regionalized) Swedish third division. He's playing at a NCAA D1 level. That might even be generous.

I think we could move this to the main forum, no? It is first-team action.

    In the third division, though.

Ah, didn't remember exactly which bizarre rule was settled upon.

He did get MLS minutes before going to this team, which qualifies him for the promotion.

Well, I'm not a moderator and I'm sure as heck not keeper of the rulebook. (I also don't want to be.)

And, frankly, I thought we should've gone with regional forums.

Anyway, feel free to ask the powers that be for whatever you like. Godspeed.

Don't be so grumpy Dave, I'm just being exact.

Fair enough, though perhaps I've misunderstood the rules if the exact purpose of the main forum is to house threads about guys in the Swedish third division who aren't anywhere near the MNT pool because they made 3 MLS appearances a while back. Like I said, I'm not an expert on how things work around here.

Anyway, honestly I don't really care where threads go. I'm ashamed of myself for posting three times in one thread about it. Once was probably too many.

Nice goals by Gall. Hope he keeps it up.

Gall has started all 15 league games so far and has five goals for Nyköping, who are mid-table. Today, he scored the winner in the Svenska Cupen against AFC United, who are one division above.

Sounds like he scored a brace this weekend.

Finished with nine goals in 24 games. Nykopings were a midtable club in their regional third division.

He is too good for the Swedish third division.

In his specific situation anything longer than a relatively short stint there probably isn't a path back to a first division league like MLS.
