Steelers are my new team. I always rooted for them if they were playing so I just picked them once the rams left.
I watched most of these playoffs. So far they are hungrier than last game(poor start) but they have a lot of work to do if they are to win this. This series equivalent to NBA would be Cavs vs Warriors with Penguins being the Warriors(team is really really talented and favourite to win it).
They're killing us on the counter. I'm not an avid hockey fan but before this series started I saw the Penguins roster and saw Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz... All names I recognize. Down 1-0 right now but let's see if the sharks can respond like they did last game where they fell just short.
Yeah they are one of the fastest teams in the league. Can defend well too mostly because of that speed. Here is a PP for Sharks now. This is exactly how they can turn this series around by trying to get Pens to take dumb penalties..Make them work for every inch(Sharks do have enough physical play to make it a lot tougher). As for Penguins players above..They also added Phil Kessel from my shitty Leafs and he's been around top 10 scoring in almost every year for the past 5+ years. They are stacked.
We definitely got the momentum going but the Pens are one break away from having a 3-1 shot on goal like they've had these past 2 games. So unlucky not to score in the last seconds
Yeah the last minute was probably the best the Sharks have looked this entire game. They were so hungry for the puck and had at least few chances there. Some analyst just said that if Penguins don't win this game they will have a very tough time in San Jose(plus that building is one of the loudest in the league apparently).
Worst part is it hasn't even been Malkin or Crosby who have been killing us. Bonino is a one man wrecking crew this series. Thornton and Marleu have to step up if they want a cup before they retire. Who you going for btw? @bosna10
They'll make it tough for the Pens so it's not even close to over. I think they'll get the next one and then who knows in game 4. They need a bit better game plan though as they havent been getting enough shots. Shooting only 15 a game, you better be having amazing accuracy(and sometimes it does happen).
I wouldn't mind either team to be honest. I still like Phil Kessel as he was with the Leafs and so i wish him the best. On the other side Thornton and Marleau have bled for the Sharks for so long now i think they finally deserve to be rewarded..So yea i wouldn't mind either one(Penguins won the Stanley Cup in 2009 though so it'd be a bit nicer if Sharks got one).
Not really necessary but it does help. I started watching(a team from a city i don't even live in) because every Saturday night(similar to how NFL on Sundays is so popular in US) they would show HNIC(Hockey Night In Canada) and so the same team was being shown every HNIC broadcast. So i'd watch a bit each time and pick up certain player names, try to get to know the rules, etc. All of a sudden you start getting into it more and more and then it becomes like a religion...Every Saturday for the last 20+ years i've never missed my team play(heck not just Saturday either..usually there are games 2-4 times a week). You get to see players with great skating abilities, hard hitting, amazing moves similar to footy, shots, goalies saves, etc. One part i like even more(and i've followed pretty much every other sport) is that there aren't as many stoppages as other sports(especially NFL and MLB where it seems every 5-10 seconds there is a stoppage). These are highlights from first game of this Sharks vs Penguins series. Of course it's always more exciting if you team is in it but anyways.
Pens @ Sharks, game 3. Incredible atmosphere at the Shark Tank. Stream for anyone that is interested. http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2683580961
