Do u think Andre Hahn's style can benefit this National Team?

He is physical, fast, high work ethics, good at heading n finishing.

I think he can provide something that the team currently lack

    Sure...if Mueller / Kruse / Reus / Volland / Brandt / Draxler / Stindl / Schurrle / Werner / Sane didn't exist.

Hahn's just no where near NT caliber; his size & athleticism are, but his skill & finishing simply are not. BMG are my team in the first division, so I like him, but I'd be pissed if Jogi picked him without a good half dozen injuries to players we should take instead.

All Hahn could give the NT is a poor targetman and a lot of lost possession.

Have you seen Timo Werner play? He isnt doing anything at all.

I dont think Kruse n Schurrle bring elements that we lack, and both are in poor form. Especially Kruse, he is just another attacking midfielder playing up top but not performing

Hahn's finishing is poor? Thats something new

We need a physical presence inside the penalty box, as an alternative plan. U dont always need 23 equally skilled players inside the box sometimes, u need some varieties. Thats why Mario Gomez is there

Sometimes the team may want to play more direct. Thats why u need Mario Gomez or Hahn inside the box and provide something different.

There is a good chance Mario Gomez will start for us. but who can come off the bench? I dont think Hahn is a bad option

You are stuck in the football of a bygone-age.

Do Podolski and Schuerrle deserve their places in the NT?

Podolski hasn't deserved his place in the NT for God knows how long. Schuerrle, its a debate. He's pretty poor for Wolfsburg, but he's a proven commodity on the NT as a very good change-of-pace substitute. With that being said, if he brings his weak Wolfsburg form to the NT, I'd be tempted to hook him relatively quickly. There's too much talent waiting on the bleachers to have sentimental passengers.

    Like Leicester? Or Atleti?

There is more then one way of being successful, it's not all about tiki taka possession bullshit. It's about scoring more then the opponent, always will be. Doesn't matter how skilfully constructed a goal is, they all count the same.

Podolski's time with the NT should have ended years ago, overrated from day 1.

Atletico? The same Atletico that plays with two mobile, skill-oriented forwards in Torres and Griezmann, and where the more static and powerful and big forward Jackson Martinez got sold to China? Or perhaps Leicester, where James Vardy leads the line? The world is moving away from big and powerful old-school 9s. Aside from Lewandowski and old-as-dirt Ibrahimovic, is there anyone else who even starts for a CL contender? Kane?

I was talking more about how everyone thought possession based football was the modern, only and best way to go, which is something Atletico or Leicester have disproved with their physical counter attacking style.

Both are very strong defensively and concentrate properly on organising themselves for set pieces, both attacking and defensive. This is an area neglected by a lot of the more "skillfull" sides.

There is no best way of playing, so using a physical no. 9 who scores goals should never be out of date, providing you do it well. All goals count the same, they don't need to be created with 100 passes first. Being able to play with variety is also very important. A plan B can be as valuable as plan A.

Regarding Atletico, is that the best use of Germany's current personnel though? Or is it attacking possession football?

But the reality is we don't have a great physical 9 who scores goals, aside from Gomez in the Turkish league. Should we really force him into the lineup just cuz when the rest of the world primarily uses smaller and more mobile forwards with fewer physical and big 9s?

Dzeko starts a fair bit for Roma, as do Mandzukic at Juve, Giroud at Arsenal, and Janko at Basel. Higuain is a big guy as well. Agree with your general point, though.

That's really the key. Using your personnel to their strengths. Germany has a lot of skillful attacking players. Our defense will be under less pressure by playing high up the pitch and keeping the ball. We don't have the players to play like Atletico.

How would you characterize Germany 2014 if not possession-oriented?

Well, unfortunately Miro is 37 years old and we don't really have a similar player to replace him with.

In other news Can is starting for Liverpool.

Im willing to give Gomez a 2nd chance - at least in a lineup option with a real 9 hes the man.

Can is bossing the midfield vs Villareal

Honestly I'd rather have him as a midfielder at the Olympics than as rb at the Euros.
