So rumors about USA and Mexico co-hosting together is making me laugh nonstop. Mexico has already hosted twice while the USA did it in 1994.

I doubt that FIFA is going to support the idea of co-hosting as well.

The FIFA president has already been quoted as saying he is in favor of it. And he seems to have an agenda of pushing for a Regional World Cup with various host cities instead of one Country hosting for future tournaments.

I think it is safe to say if this USA/Mexico merger officially becomes a bid it will be the favorite to get it.

After what happened to Blatter and Fifa in general, Fifa knows they cant fuc.k around with USA like they did last time with Qatar (USA lost their bid to Qatar)

Yeah and they were the 'favorite' to win the 2022 edition.

Also, I just learned that they're likely about to move the decision to 2020 before accepting bids.

You are making it seem like the US wanted to host this initially.
This was the CONMEBOL's idea not the USA's idea. A bunch of CONMEBOL's officials got together in Miami and thought it would be a huge money maker for their pockets.

The little kids who walked with the players had total sports on their shirts. Isn't that the company the FBI said was corrupt and got all the South American FIFA presidents arrested?

Pot calls the kettle black. You can leave any time and then the US can have one less little baby that bitches all the time to worry about.

It makes most economic sense for all parties to have the tournament here. Most host countries lose money in international sports competitions (see the current struggles to find people willing to host the winter olympics). The US is the nation that has come closest to breaking even (back in 94) - so here everyone wins: the conmebol countries get an event with huge scale in gate and tv rights (on top of their existing cope calendar, and none of them have to foot the bill) and the US gets a nice dry run for a future WC hosting and can elevate the sport a bit more domestically.

the stadium for the colombia game wasn't full. I have never been to a soccer game here with the stadium full. I go to every Colombia or US game in NYC & Boston. TO the games when Euro teams come and the stadiums are not full.

I just think its bullshit for a country to cry about not being given the WC when they hosted 6 world cups ago and there are 120 countries that are part of FIFA that haven't. Its not so much against US. its more the way it looks like FIFA is heading is that US will host then Germany, then England, then maybe Brazil again then Mexico, US, Spain, France, England. Everyone should have a shot to host as home field advantage is huge. I just don't like people saying OMG they cheated and then doing shady shit as well. And no it doesn't make sense for a country not even in the federation to host this event.

Wrong. 67k people attended the US-Colombia game and it was sold out - and the atmosphere was fantastic from what I could see on TV and the accounts here. (http://www.ussoccer.com/mens-nation...opa-america-centenario/160603-mnt-v-col#tab-1). How many people do you think attend first round games of the Copa in when its held in South America?

People go to soccer games in the States, we have higher attendance for MLS on average than the NBA or NHL. Average attendance to the MLS is higher than the Argentine league. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major...vs._other_North_American_professional_leagues) . That's not to say that fandom/interest is anywhere as high as in Latam, but people go and spend more money and overall it works out best for everyone to have it here. Its also why so many Latin American nations are playing more friendlies here.

And its not like its some bored disconnected audience either. Lets be clear: there appeared to be more Colombians in Levi Stadium the other night than I have seen at the Metropolitano at some games through the years (that is NOT a knock Barranquilla, but simply making the point that Colombian fans get out to the stadiums when we play here). The FS1 comms called it an Away crowd.

People are complaining (not just in the US btw, globally) because the Qataris bought the cup and are now leveraging the equivalent of indentured servitude with enormous human rights violations to build stadiums in the middle of the desert.

Finally, this isn't just a Conmebol event in this case, so it makes perfect sense for the US to host. It makes perfect sense for the regions to combine to make the Copa America a more salient event (and competitive with the Eurocup in terms of interest). Frankly, I wish we qualified that way too, would be more interesting and overall fair given the concentration of good football nations in South America.

Again, all you are doing is complaining yourself. Why?

USA didnt cry, they just took action. The world cup to Qatar? I mean seriously??
Besides the FIFA is corrupted so the US acted as they always act, they dont cry they just find whatever weak spot you have (In this case the FIFA being dirty) and exploited that.... The US and everyone knew before that FIFA was dirty, but nobody did anything.
The US knew but had that card under their sleeve for when the moment was necessary... they lost the opportunity to host the world cup against Qatar because of Qatar buying officials, so US used their card.

Thats not crying, that's being like you fu.ck with me, ill fu.ck you over... simple as that
