Snip: After clinching two consecutive wins in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2016, Filipino-American midfielder Antonio Ugarte believes that Kaya FC is in good position of earning a spot in the next round of the tournament. http://www.manilatimes.net/ugarte-sees-kaya-fc-reaching-next-round/251024/ A Californian who played at San Francisco State: http://www.sfstategators.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1154 He doesn't seem to be super-active on Twitter but here's his account: http://www.sfstategators.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1154
Anton Ugarte Midfielder | No. 8 Birthday: 28-Dec-89 Birthplace: San Francisco, California Nationality: Filipino Weight: 70.8 kg Height: 176 cm Previous team: Pattani FC (Thailand) He played soccer at San Francisco State University and joined Kaya in August 2012, and after donning the club’s colors for two UFL Cups and one league season, he left the club in December 2013. After two successful years in Thailand, during which he played for Nara United and Pattani, respectively, the midfielder returns to Kaya FC. “It was an incredible experience. I feel like I’ve matured a lot since I moved there … I think it made me an all-around better player,” narrated Ugarte. Aside from his professional career, his goal is to be the 3rd generation of Ugartes to make the Philippine national football team, following the footsteps of his grandfather, granduncle and uncle. Here are pics of his grandfather(Emil) and granduncle(Sebastian) with the national football team from the 1930 Far Eastern Games: He recently scored a goal in the AFC Cup(similar to UEFA Europa League) for Kaya FC.
He has an Academy forum thread: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/antonio-ugarte-at-kaya-fc.2030093/
Okay. You might want to ask the mods to merge both threads then, since I can't delete this one anymore.
Antonio Ugarte is interesting because he is trying to be the third generation of Ugartes after his grandfather, granduncle and uncle, to try to make it to the Philippine national football team. Antonio, of course, would be the first generation born in the US. The others, of Spanish heritage, were born and raised in the Philippines from a family deeply involved with football. Being players on the Philippine national team is a family tradition they are deeply proud of and would like to continue.

Started as captain and assisted in a 3-1 win: Jayson Panhay, and new acquisitions Arnel Amita and Arnie Pasinabo each earned their first starts for the club, while goalkeeper Zach Banzon got his first 90 minutes of the season. The first XI, captained by Antonio Ugarte, also featured youngsters Mike and Audie Menzi. Robert Lopez Mendy’s introduction with 20 minutes to go proved decisive. Shortly after coming on, the league’s leading scorer completed the turnaround. Released by a wonderful pass from Antonio Ugarte, Robert touched the ball around the onrushing keeper and slotted the ball into the empty net. http://www.kayafc.com/match/10459-jpv-marikina-fc-v-kaya-fc–iloilo/
