Im glad we got this group we always give our best against Japan and Australia. Im not saying we gonna win those games but at least our players will give their all. Besides UAE and Saudi Arabia always perform less against us. Thailand could snatch couple of points from stronger teams if they keep their park the bus and relay on counter attacks tactics. Overall im optimistic with this group. Hopefully our new coach do us good.

For me its more than 5 months to go for the matches to commence. Can't comment much. I predict there will be some transformations in the teams before the match day kickoffs.
For KSA as of now, if we manage to win 2 home games against Japan and Australia then we are through.

If we can beat Japan, and Saudi, and maybe beat Japan or Australia once, we might have a chance. Consistency is key.

Not the best choice I'll say. I hoped for Abdulghani Shahad. Well, I guess all I can do is wish my country good luck.

Btw we got an easy 3 points so far. Yup you read that right. KSA is still refusing to play in Iran's soil and our home ground in the qualifications is still Iran. We wont change the ground and thats a 3 points. [emoji1360]

Despite of the of the silly iraq-iran rivalry on BS thanks to Benjamin Williams and troll accounts, when it comes to Saudi I truly wish Iraq and all the other teams cause them problems. Hope your FA stands strong and doesn't listen to them. Even if they somehow come to Iran, there will tons of not only Iraqi but also Iranian supporters just to boo the Saudi team to a loss. :D

AFC will change the venue for them. Even if Saudi wanted to play in Jamaica AFC would instantly accept.

You better cause Qatar issues. I don't want them in the World Cup at any cost.

There is one scenario I would lmao if it happened
Saudis offer Iraq hosting the Gulf Cup in exchange to change our venue against them. Our corrupted FA agrees. We play Saudi Arabia in Jordan, we lose. They withdraw their offer of Iraq hosting the Gulf cup.
    Sh!t like this happens.
Lets hope our FA stand still against Saudis cheating behaviors. This is a guaranteed 3 points we do not want to waste.

Both KSA and UAE are asking Iraq to play in Jordan. I know KSA has political issues with Iran but UAE ? Why is that ? Did KSA ask UAE FA to do that ? OMG this sh!t is serious. Please Our FA play in Iran [emoji16]

Thailand and Iraq will compete for third place.

This group would traditionally be a cakewalk for Japan and be troubling for the Aussies based on the number of darkhorse teams. New look Australia looks good though.

Officially We wont change our ground. We are playing in Iran. Either Saudi Arabia give us the 3 points for free or they come in Iran and play which its highly unlikely. Congrats for our easy 3 points. Not sure about UAE but if they want to give us the 3 points too I wont say no. [emoji23][emoji38]

    lol @ Saudi...

As with UAE. The only reason I think they may want to avoid going to Iran and pressure AFC with the Saudis to change the location is because the match in Iran will be much tougher than it would be in Jordan.

    3 reasons:
    -Big Iraqi presence in Tehran.
-Some Kurdish people in Iran for some reason also support Iraq NT
-Iranian teams don't get the best treatment when travelling to Saudi/UAE. Fans will show to support Iraq.

Historically, Group B little heavier than Group A with five to three that have appeared in the World Cup Finals.

    Group A
    South Korea 9 appearances (1954, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014)
    Iran 4 (1978, 1998, 2006, 2014)
    China 1 (2002)

    Group B
    Japan 5 (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014)
    Australia 4 (1974, 2006, 2010, 2014)
    Saudi Arabia 4 (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006)
    Iraq 1 (1986)
    UAE 1 (1990)

Although, I have the feeling that Uzbekistan will make its debut in 2018.
Nevertheless, both groups are very open. At least eight teams are legitimate contenders.
Yes. South Korea, Iran, Australia and Japan (those four) in a position to have a realistic shot but none of them are head and shoulders above the rest.

You gotta get your lawyers out. AFC will do everything in its power to accommodate the saudis and it will rule Iran out as a venue for iraq to play its home games at. You have to present your case at Court of Arbitration for Sport - CAS. IFF will probably help you with documentation and proof that Iran is IN FACT a safe ground, and you'll win the case. saudis will probably still refuse to come to Iran which will result in not only a 3-0 win for you guys but also disqualification from the tournament and sanctions from Fifa - like kuwait. :sneaky:
