Oddly, they did the same thing with the second legs of the quarterfinals, scheduling them one right after the other without taking into account the possibility of extra time.

...although I believe they'll get away with it: no way Tigres-Querétaro ends up 0-0 again, and the first goal scored eliminates extra time as a possibility.

Don´t wanna jinx it:p, but if America eliminates Santos, Darwin and Oribe will play 4 straight SCCL finals!

4 straight or 4 total? I'm pretty sure neither was around for the Toluca/Cruz Azul final in 2014. :cautious:

As an away trip in CONCACAF, 100% recommend - especially because Panamanians are passionate about the game (although they're still mad fair-weather fans) without really holding any enmity towards anyone.

From a personal standpoint, there's something special about the frustration of trying to communicate with other Haitians (them expecting me to know Creole, me making do with French that I already don't speak regularly), only for us to turn into one voice, one band of compatriots as soon as the anthem plays. And then the pride of seeing how the team played (esp. compared to that deer-in-the-headlights performance in El Salvador in 2008), the surreal experience of having security walk me onto the field itself, shaking hands with the Haitian subs and the refs!!!, being directed to the Ambassador's suite and refusing to go in because the adrenaline insisted that I stay outside and cheer and wave my flag as the occasion demanded, shushing the local fans when goals were called back offside, falling on my back when that one Haitian header at the far post just missed going in, walking back and forth nervously as Johnny Placide and some emergency defense kept us in the game after the red card, looking on despondently at the delirium in the stands below after Baloy's goal, shaking hands and congratulating the Panamanian fans and security after the game...making that stop en route to the US just to see that game was one of the best decisions I ever made.

No shame on losing on a goal from the greatest Panamanian footballer ever!

To be fair, I wouldn't say they're all those teams "rolled into one"... they're a slightly smaller fish than the UEFA giants in a much smaller pond. But yes, they have the record to back it up.

Brutal officiating on America's called-off goal. Inexcusable by both the AR and the center ref.

Consider it a late make-up call for the gift they got against Montreal last time. :D Either that, or América really need to sit down and iron out their new CBA with the refs... :cautious:
