Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has sacked national football team coach Fabio Lopez and appointed Maruful Haque as his replacement.
The decision came on Tuesday after the BFF’s National Teams Committee met to evaluate the national squad’s performance in the last five matches.

Committee chief Kazi Nabil Ahmed told reporters after the meeting that Lopez had been fired and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra coach Haque would be the new coach.

Sources in Kuwait have informed Al-Kass Channel in Qatar that the contract of Nabil Maaloul has been terminated by mutual consent. It has long been mentioned in the press that Maaloul would eventually leave Kuwait after the suspension received by FIFA, but negotiations have drawn out over months. This has been due to FIFA’s constant delay of Kuwait’s imminent international ban.

Abdulla Abu Zema, Jordan || January 13th, 2016

After news emerging that Paul Put was involved in a match-fixing scandal back in his home country, Belgium, Put’s sacking was imminent and became a matter of when and not if. The ideal man for the job, his assistant Abdulla Abu Zema, will take over the national team until further notice of any changes.

HANOI (17 Feb 2016) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have named Nguyen Huu Thang as the new national coach for the next two years.

“The National Coach Council has introduced several candidates and we have talked with them before choosing Huu Thang as the most suitable person for the position,” said Le Hoai Anh, the general secretary of the VFF.

SINGAPORE (24 March 2016) – Singapore’s German coach Bernd Stange has confirmed he will be stepping down after a lacklustre stint that leaves the football-mad city-state at 148th in the world rankings.

The 68-year-old said the World Cup qualifier against Afghanistan next week will be his last game in charge, local media reported Thursday.

East Germany-born Stange was brought in by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) in 2013 to replace Serbian Raddy Avramovic, who resigned after leading Singapore to three championships in the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2004, 2007 and 2012.

I am always surprised by how short a leash coaches are given at the national team level.

Case in point. Syria made the 3rd round of the WC qualifiers and yet their coach is fired. The Philippine's coach Thomas Dooley, also got into conflict with his players in the past and some of our national team players threatened to go on strike, but our team manager and the PFF managed to calm the waters, backed the coach and allowed tempers to cool down, and eventually everybody got on the same page.

Now it seems that the PFF and Coach Dooley has agreed to a contract extension for another 2 years and pretty much everybody is hailing the decision.
