The Libertadores campaign starts tonight! Boca travels to Deportivo Cali VS Wednesday Feb 24 21:45 (Hora Argentina) Stadium: Estadio Deportivo Cali Ref: Pericles Bassols Pegado Cortez (BRA) VAMOS BOOOOOCA!!!!!! Likely lineup: Sticking with what worked in Argentina, hopefully works in Colombia.
This joke of a ref is directly responsible for this Lodeiro injury. So many hard fouls already in just 10 minutes of play. I hope the guys can keep their cool and not retaliate in a way to get a stupid card.
I just find it funny that when lodeiro gets a hard foul, the ref is at fault... Tevez seriously hurts two players in 4 months but hey, he's a humble guy from a shanty town, he didn't mean it... Meanwhile, the AFA rules say he should have gotten suspended 3 to 15 games... As it is, he didn't even get a yellow card
Is there a point here? What does what you say have ANYTHING to do do with what I said? You Bring up two examples of accidentally hurting another player, the second of which so pathetically absurd that I can't believe I am devoting brain power to reply. Does that mean that Boca should never get another call ever? Where have I even offered a defense for Tevez' incidents before? Wait a minute, how are you even posting while reffing this match?
Gago with a very good performance, but once the ball gets into the box, our guys seem to lose their collective minds...bad touches, errant shots and passes.
Well right now you're defending tevez by saying he accidentally hurt another player. I'm sorry, I've watched and played football all my life, you cannot tell me that what happened to Unsain was accidental. He lifted his knee and went flying into the guys jaw. He has to have a liquid diet for 45 days... Tevez didn't even get a yellow card. Look at this picture- Tevez had plenty of time to avoid Unsain but instead he lifted his knee and went flying into his jaw. There was absolutely no attempt to play the ball. And as the AFA rules indicate, even if a ball is in dispute (it wasn't as it was in possession of the goalie) a flying knee should be punished with a 3 to 15 game suspension. Two years ago, a player for Talleres de Remedios de Escalada got 16 games for an identical foul playing in the B Metropolitano. If Ponzio committed a challenge like this, the media would be calling for his head- but as he's Tevez a humble guy from a villa, there hasn't even been discussion of it in the media As I recall, you also defended Orion when he broke Carlos Buenos leg with a criminal foul when he had no intention of playing the ball. You also defended Orion when I brought up how Orion had intentionally injured Paredes in training. Let's not forget Orion's incidents with Gamba and Falcao (amongst others)
Forgot to make a post about the Racing game. Oh well. A 0-0 game in an empty Bombonera. At least they didn't lose. Hard to ask too much with Guille coming in on short notice.
Boca goes way above sea level to La Paz. VS Wednesday Feb 24 21:45 (Hora Argentina) Stadium: Estadio Hernando Siles Ref: ? VAMOS BOOOOOCA!!!!!! Likely lineup: We've only played them 6 times, won all 3 at home but on the road have only managed a draw at best. You can blame the altitude for that I suppose but no excuses, let's find a way, Guille!
GOOOOOOOOOOLLLL DE BOCA! Ultimo momento de tiro libre! Carrizo! Second half was a lot better overall, just felt like they were conserving energy early on and it bit them. But at least they salvaged a tie.
I missed the game, sounds like another fiasco in the altitude. I suppose un puntito en Bolivia always means something, but damn, we better start winning!
The first half they just gave waaaay too much space for Bolivar to attack. Their goal was a nice long distance one that you can probably only score in La Paz, but if someone would have just taken away the space to shoot it could have been prevented. It just seemed like they didn't want to overdo it and run around too much. I guess it was smart in the end as it let them last into the final minutes of the match but it could have been a win if they didn't concede early.
The return game against Bolivar. VS Thursday April 7 19:30 (Hora Argentina) Stadium: La Bombonera Ref: ? VAMOS BOOOOOCA!!!!!! Likely lineup: So after that last minute draw in the thin air of Bolivia, we really need to take it to them at home and get a win. No excuses this time!
