Damn. Did not see that coming. However, I really think Omar needs to be jarred out of his old comfort zone with LAG - should not be so protected in LMX. If he rises to the challenge, could be a good move for him.

I thought the Darth Vader pics I saw on Twitter were jokes, but no...
I heard he's also bad at passing! And defense! And soccer! He's an extremely tall guy who can nevertheless look very smooth for his size. (He's a converted youth striker.) But he's excellent on crosses, particularly defensively, reasonably cool-headed, and an adequate passer -- though not toward the top of the U.S. defender pool as a long passer. His quality has been somewhat inconsistent over the length of his pro career, but when he's dialed in he's good enough to play for a Big 5 club in my opinion.
Unlike everyone else, I think it's a positive move. More intense environment, more pressure should help him grow as a player. Gignac hasn't been hurt by moving to Mexico, don't see how it can hurt Omar. Especially if the money is right.
Yeah, I saw an interview on YouTube with him speaking Spanish after a USMNT match. Not the best Spanish-speaker, but his parents are Mexican, so I'm sure he has plenty of practice.
This is a good move contrary to belief. He is going to a better league even if it's not Europe. He will be challenged here and will make him into a better player. More competition at his position? Check League where his deficits will be worked (playing out of the back/technique/facing quicker players) Check If Pachuca make it to Copa Libeertadores/Sudamericana it'll be even higher competition
Lol I wanna see another American play in Libertadores. Amazing atmosphere and play in that tournament. Last American that played in it was I think Torres or Castillo
would be Amazing if we qualified for the Libertadores !!!!! last season Pachucas biggest problem whas the defense, now we have Gonzales, Medina, Murillo, and Manny Garcia wich makes me excited to see how Alonso will play. i think that with the inclusion of Omar, Alonso will try to play with a five man backline. so that means that his biggest competition is aquivaldo. this would be my startingline up if we go with 5-3-2. Shaggy----murillo---Aquivaldo/Gonsalez----Medina----Garcia ----------------------Hernandez--------------- --------------Pizarro--------------Gutierez--------- ----------------------------------Hirving Lozano--- ----------------------Jara/Nahuelpan---------------
gonzalez not too long ago was the best CB in the concacaf, but he had hit a slump, so yeah he will be fine
