Thanks. This guy, I believe, has a thread here (and some YNT callups) though there are two guys with similar names, so it's a bit confusing.

I think you are thinking of Elias Thomas, who I think is his older brother, but I've yet to find any confirmation on that.

Swedish second tier club GAIS has promoted their youth coach Benjamin Westman to be their new first team manager. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think he's part american? Although I don't know the specifics, or if he actually has american citizenship.

Ya, I've kept tabs on youth in Germany and with all the talk of German Americans and the discussion that brings, what appears clear is we'll have another wave coming at some point. It's not like our military members stopped making babies over there.

German Americans will be a part of our program for years to come.

You already have a kid like Jeremy Toljan who is good enough for the US right now (whether he ever plays for the US is another matter entirely) and those not too far off from the first team like DeVante Parker. So yeah, definitely see German-Americans as part of the US player pool for the foreseeable future.

RB – Corey Anton: At the age of 16, Corey Lee stands 6-foot-1 and is a rotation player for Kaiserslautern’s U17 team. Having made his way through the FCK academy for three years, the right back is celebrating his fourth season at Kaiserslautern in the greatest of ways, scoring twice in nine games. Though he is averaging less than 45 minutes per game, both of his goals were scored earlier this week (against Freiburg, Nov. 14th) in only 25 minutes.

OWTY's list and then research about the players, but I couldn't confirm that any were Americans playing at those clubs. Some I couldn't confirm were American and others I couldn't confirm were playing at those clubs.

It does appear that he was really in Germany, but he was playing HS soccer in Texas a year or two ago. Not sure where he is now.

I was going through wikipedia and wound up on the Arsenal academy page. Under the rosters there is a goalkeeper named George Philips with and American flag next to his name. Never heard of the guy, is he actually American? Did a little research couldn't find anything.

Good question. Wiki has proven pretty unreliable, but not completely. He seems to exist and is a '99 GK at the club, but I also haven't been able to quickly find anything saying he's a Yank.
