Co-sign, it's ridiculous that they showed the bunk MX Cup game instead, even when it was already being shown on ESPN Spanish. Not a bad day of sports, ties by America and Croatia, wins by SL and Mets. Well, LA is now in the driver's seat. Any win will earn them the top seed, unless UANL wins by 7 goals more. There are guaranteed to be at least two MLS teams among the top four seeds. Seeding possibilities, with potential opponents: LA (7pt, +9) W: Seeded 1-2; (Seattle, Queretaro, Herediano) D: Seeded 5-6; (Santos, DC, UANL) L: Seeded 6-8; (RSL, DC, America, UANL) UANL (7pt, +2) W: Seeded 1-4; (Seattle, Queretaro, RSL, LA) D: Seeded 5-6; (Santos, RSL, DC) L: Eliminated Herediano (4pt, +1) W: Seeded 5-8; (Santos, RSL, DC, America, LA) D/L: Eliminated America (10pt, +7) Seeded 1-3; (Seattle, Queretaro, Santos, LA, Herediano) DC (10pt, +6) Seeded 2-4; (Seattle, Queretaro, UANL, Santos, RSL, LA, Herediano) RSL (10pt, +3) Seeded 3-5; (Seattle, Queretaro, Santos, DC, LA, Heredino) Santos (9pt, +9) Seeded 4-6; (Queretaro, RSL, DC, LA, UANL) Queretaro (7pt, +9) Seeded 5-7; (Santos, RSL, DC, LA, UANL) Seattle (7pt, +3) Seeded 6-8; (RSL, DC, America, LA, UANL)
LA and UANL both losing 0-1 would put all four MLS teams on one side, and three MX teams + Herediano on the other. (Which is not quite what you were asking, but, y'know, close enough.)
Alright, just because we can, there's a "perfect storm" situation, too: --LA draws --UANL wins by 1, 2, or 3 We'd get every single QF as MEXvUSA: America-Seattle, DC-Queretaro, UANL-LA, and RSL-Santos
I'm going to go ahead and predict the entire rest of the tournament here. Enjoy mocking these later. Group stage: UANL holds off Herediano, something like 2-0 or 3-1. LA brings a bunch of scrubs to Guatemala and loses 0-1. Quarterfinals: America v Seattle DC v LA UANL v Queretaro RSL v Santos With no international travel, LA and UANL bring their A squads and win. America and Santos roll. Semis: America v Santos UANL v LA Tigres gonna Tigres. Final: America v LA Winner: LA will have the lead with 20 minutes left, but collapse in Azteca. Should've played for the top seed, Bruce.
I predict that Canadian international Keven Aleman will lead Herediano to a famous win over Tigers UANL
So listening to the Spanish commentators during the LAG - COM game, one of the 2 commentators predicted an all MLS final. He did not elaborate, nor did he say which 2 teams.
Yeah, I heard that commentary from Luis Omar Tapia, he's very Pro-MLS/USMNT which is fine by me but he usually make those type of nonsense commentaries, especially when a Mexican club or the MNT is involved. Unfortunately for him, the great majority of his predictions or "wishes" get truncated every single time. He said something similar for the USMNT vs Mexico's Concacaf final. I predict a Tigres vs America final.
What, you didn't learn from 2013 when the LAG II prototype got a historic asswhoopin' in El Salvador?
Ah, this will be the best ccl season ever. 4 mexicans vs 4 usa I think will be 3/1 or 4/0 for Mexico. Now, USA have no escuses .. Play 50 - 50 against Mexico
Doesn't it seem to anyone else like Verdes' keeper was on the take last night? I mean, it's the perfect combination: continental tournament + meaningless game that hardly anyone will watch + nondescript teams with a clear underdog (if you accept Verdes' trend of stepping up at home and crashing on the road). Seriously, look at these highlights: I'm certain just about any of us could've been thrown in the net and we'd have done a better job.
Is that 8:0 score the biggest CCL margin of victory by a non-Mexican club? Edit: Can anybody find another team with a bigger difference in home and away performance than Hankook Verdes? Hankook Verdes lost 8:0 away twice and got a win and a draw at home.
It would be the biggest slap in the face; the biggest in your face Mexico has ever given the yanks in the club game. Apart from la decima of course!
