Yep, I'm sure glad he was available against Poland at home and Scotland away back then... Who knows what would happened if he injured too in those matches.
Neuer, Özil and Gündogan stood out. Schürrle, Hector and Ginter should stay home at international break. Not happy at all with the game. Not happy with Löw.
Urgh, that was not pretty, but at least we are qualified now. Gündogan, Özil and Neuer with good matches. Schürrle is not a starter, he lacked cohesion with his team-mates all game long.
thankfully we all can have a break from Löw and his tactical mastermind for a while pic.twitter.com/JiSwSmamAK— Elder millennial (@Ali_MPH) October 11, 2015
Also, didn't think I'd say this, but big kudos for Özil for stepping up this last stretch of qualification. Not watching much Premier League I forget how good he can be. Fingers crossed that he can conserve his current form also with Arsenal.
He's been good with Arsenal for a while now. Özil has overcome whatever the hell that was that was holding him back a while ago.
Lehmann "sometimes in those tight games you need those box strikers, getting to one or maybe two high balls instead of none at all" Löw "target striker bears the risk we rely too much on playing long balls"
Özil just seems to be a player that goes through valleys and peaks. I remember a poster on spox.com breaking it down very nicely even before Özil moved to Madrid. If he could remove the valleys from his game...
Happy we qualified...as a fan sometimes I struggle to motivate myself 100% after winning the World Cup so can understand the little dampening performance from the squad....hope they get their s*** together and in 8 months of time we reach our peak in France... Also Basti, Khedira, Howedes, Boateng, Neuer, Muller must remain injury free before and during the tournament...they are absolute must in tough matches and attitude perspective
lol Löw has apparantly heavily criticized Köln and Dortmund for not training Hector and Ginter at fullback offensive runs towards the touchline.
He said a big problem was that both fullbacks couldn't provide width, as Hector is used to a more defensive, counter-attacking setup and Ginter is a natural defender.
neuer howedes boateng hummels schmelzer schweini khedira kroos mueller goetze ozil/reus or neuer howedes boateng hummels badstuber schweini khedira mueller kroos reus gomez
Ill stick with my no fullbacks approach. Hummels and Boateng alone is still better than fielding all those various numpties.
That was so funny last nite when the commentator started getting on Ozil's back again - then suddenly he wins a pen and assists the winner I think he will just never get any credit to be honest
Even the German commentator was complaining about Ginter continuously cutting inside or passing it back. He had many decent chances to get behind.
