for CCL, I hope no :D But MX clubs are too strong!! Anyway, only chance for MLS is to qualify teams as Queretano, Veracruz or Leon from Liga MX and to be eliminated from groups stage by Canadians, Costa Ricans or Hondurian clubs

In last seasons we had bolivians, paraguayans, mexicans in semifinals or the final :p and there are champions between 2 countries (ARG & BRA), in Concacaf Mexico need rivals, due of this reason they try to move in Conmebol !! Concacaf need rivality, and only USA can give it for Mexico, and little Costa Rica !!

right :D but MX clubs dominate the competition !!

Concacaf have 3 levels of clubs :

    1. the best - MEXICAN clubs
    2. middle - MLS, Canadians and Costa Ricans
    3. lowers with some qualifications or not - Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua, Belize, CFU

this competition would be much better when levels 1 & 2 will be one (comprimated) :D

    1. Argies and brazilians
    2. Mexico
    3. the rest!

yah, but some other clubs are year by year there ... Atletico Nacional, Emelec, Penarol, Olimpia, Cerro Porteno, Libertad, and others, which every year qualify from groups to Round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals :p

that in last 2 years Aergentina won Copa Libertadores (San Lorenzo & River Plate) and Copa Sudamericana (River Plate and in 2015 ... probably River, Independiente) is other.

In Copa Sudamericana Brazilian clubs dont count, look at Brasilia FC, which come from 5th league... Chapecoense a weat team for this competition, and others..

The Sudamericana is crap since Mexican teams stopped playing. Concacaf doesn´t even have a second cup to compare so no sense bringing that up.

Since teams from Mexico have competed in Conmebol's prime competitions, they've only have won one Sudamericana tournament, and never have won any Libertadores (best results have been 3 times being runner-up, which only means to be the best among the losers).

The only other countries from Conmebol which have had a similar overall performance in both competitions, are Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela. Everybody else from Conmebol, has achieved much more success than those for Mexico.

So as it happens, Mexico at club level still is at the worst level possible, compared to the rest of countries from Conmebol.

That's only the same type of excuses, that mexican teams come up with, whenever they lose, which is almost all the time.

Don't know what you talking about.

Away goals meant many teams advancing through the competition in that same edition since the preliminaries (Sao Paulo over Figueirense in Brazil 2, at preliminary of first stage; Colo Colo over Audax Italiano in Chile/Bolivia preliminary of first stage; Guadalajara over DC United at round of 16; Sao Paulo over Boca jrs at round of 16; River Plate over Defensor sporting at quarters).

Why would the final match confrontations, be diferent ?

First game in Mexico, Arsenal won 3-2.
second game in Argentina, America won 2-1
over all result 4-4, where Arsenal scored 3 goals in Mexico, while America only scored 2 goals in Argentina.
    Arsenal wins ;)
    .
    .
Oh yes, and America fans, get the bonus of going back home "crying", as how mexican teams love to do...

You probably talking about the Sudamericana, as my team, Colo Colo won Copa Libertadores back in 1991, something mexican teams can only wish for.
(reasons why mexican teams are at the lowest level, sharing space with the others who have never won it, the same as them).

For a mexican team to ever win Copa libertadores, they require to get lots more Conmebol players among the starters of their team, than those that now UANL used in this last edition (how many were there in that team ?, 7 or was it 8 players among the 11 starters ?, never mind answering the question as it was pretty close to that and we all know it that without them, they would get no where in the tournament and probably get eliminated at group phase, as how Atlas did, w). If maybe next time they play it without any mexican players in the team, maybe only then they'll win it.

    lol

Like how an average Chivas made it to a Copa Libertadores final?

Gotta love how some people love to ride the coattails of other team's success.

Back then, we won this trophee down here :

And here, at the base of that trophee, there is a little piece of brass that certifies the achievement, right there between the pieces of brass that certifies the wins from Gremio and Palmeiras, a little below the piece of brass that certifies one of the victories of Independiente, as it remains there since we also did it :

    [IMG]

Oh and we had to beat Olympia (whom were the defending champions) at the final, Boca Jrs., before them at the semi's, and Nacional of Montevideo at the quarters, to get there.
We don't piggyback on no one else's success, but the one of our own.

As a side note, in that team we only had 4 players, whom weren't chilean back then, of whom only 3 were starters.

To reach that final confrontation is an outstanding achievement, no doubt at all (and we 've also been there before), but what is really what separates the cream from all the rest, is to actually win it.
    And we have done it.......

Well enough is enough. This thread is not about the greatness of Colo Colo.
All of this shit is only meant to point out that mexican teams, may probably be among the best in Concacaf, but to put clear that in Conmebol, they are pretty close to the worst and if someone says that they are close to the best of the zone, can only mean that whom says it, has a lot of imagination (which is not bad), but no sense of reality.

You sound like Liverpool fans bragging about titles they won before the 90's, or Uruguay fans bragging about winning the WC a million years ago.

What has your team achieved recently?

You should stick to riding the coattails of Brazilians and Argentines

Technically speaking MLS hasn't been winless for 15 years. That would be the US Soccer Federation. Remember that titles are awarded to the national associations being represented - not leagues. The Canadian Soccer Association (with guest teams in MLS) has never won a CONCACAF title and had Montreal won last year it wouldn't have been added to the tally of DC United and the LA Galaxy. To be fair the CSA has only entered a team on a regular basis since 2008.

As for the question, I could see the USSF/CSA going winless for 20 years but do think they will get a title in the decade to follow.
