I would expect both the Blind Pig and O'Hanlons to be at capacity, but i think they've made arrangements with other pubs on 14th Street to show the game as well.
That's what I thinking. But I wondered if anyone had any specific experience with this, and could gauge the crowds... i.e. they went to one of these places for the semi-final or last year's final? Or if there are any other Gooner-friendly bars in downtown Manhattan?
Hey fellas. I'll be in New York this weekend and might make it to the Blind Pig to watch the Chelsea match. Any recommendations on what time to get there? My friend is new to following footy and I want him to experience good atmosphere but doubt he'll want to stand around for hours on a sat morning. As a plan B, I'll be staying on Long Island...any arsenal bars out there?
I was out near manhasset and great neck. Ended up not going until late Saturday though so didn't make it to watch the game.

There are 2 good options uptown in Charlotte, NC . . . 1) Meet up with the Queen City Gooners at Ri Ra Irish Pub at 208 N. Tryon. Free parking (Ri Ra will validate) at the City Center Green deck, 350 E 6th Street. 2) For those (like myself) who prefer a true soccer bar where fans of all teams go and watch all the games on matchdays, check out Courtyard Hooligans at 140 Brevard Court. One of the best tap selections in Charlotte and numerous food options (you can bring it in) are walk-able throughout the courtyard. Expect large crowds with standing room only for big matches.
Resurrecting a thread that's been dormant for a year and a half. And ditching a long-standing avatar?! Whoa!!
I get jittery during International breaks and go into withdrawals . . . but yeah, I did a search and realized nobody ever posted about CLT.
Saw the Man U match at Maggie McGarry in North Beach in San Francisco on New Years day. The Bay Area Gooners are nice, hospitable and the place was awesome. Good atmosphere. 1353 Grant Ave, San Francisco, CA 94133 Watch a game there if you ever in the City.
Yeah I know. I was referring to pubs in the USA or elsewhere, where they're not shut down. E.g. San Antonia TX.
@The Jitty Slitter so is this Pools doping cycle again? They looked like they didn't have an ounce of energy in them.
We’ve all found ourselves in the same strange place. But luckily BS makes it easy to remedy. If you so choose.
